Last night was the perfect example why the 40 stays and sandbags in the 360. Even after his first win this year Clint says "no offense to our local(360) drivers." He can quick time, start sixth in his heat, run up to second, and pass about 6 or 7 cars in the feature. Why would he want any part of the thrilling, exciting, awesomeness that was that 410 feature last night? What a show!

Sandbagging you call it???? Wayne Johnson wins the week before in a 410, he shows up the following week in a 360.............do you think Wayne thinks he himself is sandbagging? Probably NOT! Knoxvilles 360 weekly class is as tough if not the toughest there is in the whole country. Jason Meyers last years WoO champion plans on running this years 360 Nationals, along with Shane Stewart, and maybe even Sammy Swindell. I suppose you call all those guys sandbaggers as well? Clint has a smokin deal with Al Parker right now and actually he would be crazy to not run the 360 deal he has. These local guys at Knoxville or any other track in the country arent making ANY money from running local shows, they do it because they love what they are doing. So SECTION H, if you are not happy with that 40 car running in the 360 class and it upsets you the much, please send me a message and I could personally line up a meeting for you to talk to Clint, but make sure you bring at least a six figure check to even discuss him running a 410. Otherwise, sit back enjoy the races and appreciate ALL the talent we get to witness every Saturday night at Knoxville.

The racing world is full of morons, (including promoters), who automatically assume that if anyone can afford to race in a lower division, they can afford to race in the top division.

Apparently you are one of them.

WOW...you guys are all amazing!!! Obvioously any of you hating on Clint have no idea what type of person he is. He is a great guy with a great amount of talent in racing. If any of you recall he did race 410's and did just fine. However there is alot more money involved in racing a 410..it's not about taking a step down in racing by choosing to race 360's. This a choice about doing what you enjoy and having fun doing it. It's hard for me to believe all of you can be so negative towards such a great racing team...I can guarantee if any of you take time to go visit him in the pits he will be the sure to make time to visit with you or sign a picture...Clint is about his fans. If your not one of them keep your comments to yourself..he is a great guy choosing to do what he enjoys. And as far as the sponsers it only takes those that share in your passion to make it a success...wow is all I can say to all of you being so negative!!!!

I'm sure with the 40 it's more of an ego thing than a $ thing. More like a Hessmer thing. Clint thinks he only gets challenged when big boppers come in from out of town. Clint couldn't clean the tires off of drivers like Zomer, Dobmeier, Mccarl, Heskin etc.. I don't care if he stays in the minors and wins every week.

ego thing...have you ever met the guy? I don't think ego plays a part in at all....the point of racing is to win as it is in any competition....I don't see many racers going out planning on finishing in the back...and as far as cleaning the tires off of any of the racers you have mentioned...they are all good racers and have competed with Clint throughout the years....check the results I think he has beaten all of them sometime throughout his career.....we have been watching him race for the last 15 years...can't say I have found a nicer guy or a better race team...as far as $ goes....I'm guessing you have no idea the amount of money involved in racing a 410!!!

I think the more important question (to me anyways) is why I drive an old beat up Mercury when I could be tooling around in a new Caddy. wink

There are other 360 cars on the track at Knoxville that can compete against Clint. I quickly looked through the results section of the Knoxville web site to see how he's performed this year. His qualifying has been good but it's not like he's head and shoulders better than some of the other teams; tied for quick time one nite and qualified 4th on another. He's only gaining a few spots in his heats, and has yet to win one. He definitely does well in the features but other cars are also moving up about as many spots. I'm glad he's running Knoxville and that my team gets to compete against Clint and his team. It's great motivation, and they're great people.

The year that Clint was gunning for the 410 championship my Wife and I were walking in the pits. I overheard Clint talking about finances. The conversation was not meant for us to over hear, I am sure, but the bottom line was 410's are expensive and the point fund was going to have to pay some bills that were incurred during the year. The next Saturday he blew the lower end out of the motor and was done for the last 2 nights of racing for the year. I think he went from 2nd to 4th in the points. We have talked to him many times since then and proudly wear his shirt. The other thing is how much stuff do you see him trash. Not very much of his or another teams. GIVE THEM HELL CLINT were cheering for you

Clint and his team are a class act, second to none. I believe they're working on around 35/40 races at knoxville with out a DNF. Not one crash and NO Engine failures... Combine that with going to the track with the exact same crew for 10+ year is why they're so good. Clints a 410 caliber driver with an extremely strong 360 program. Be careful what you wish for, team 40 isn't scared of a 410.

Clint is a great guy and a great racer. Not sure why anyone would want to put him down on a message board. And I applaud him for racing at a track that pays well on Saturday nights and staying home on Sundays instead of racing for peanuts...... more racers need to do this.

I wouldn't know Clint Garner if he hit me. That being said, he must love what he does, and apparentely, he's damn good at it. And apparentely he must know how to win. You take a natural born winner, Add Al Parker, and his son jr, very dangerous combination. If you're dealing with Parker, you have to at least have the ability to be a winner, and they will take care of the rest. They can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit, but they can take a winner, and make them seem dominant. If you've noticed, winners seem to flock to Parker's, and then they become almost dominant. I believe those Guys, the Parkers can spot a winner a mile away, and smell a loser in 10 seconds. , Clint, do what you love the most.

have you ever heard of Shane Stewart?? He has won 360 finals 4 times in a Wesmar. He also passed Sammy in the 410 nationals last year and finished 2 nd. Clint had a hard time at this years 360, he got laped by Shane.

For all of you who complain that Clint wins so much, you need to really just appreciate that you are able to go to sprint car races every week WITH 3 CLASSES. That is unreal to me. I went to the races at Tulsa Speedway and OKC Speedway for 30 yrs and never thought that lifestyle would ever end. And as most of you know both of those tracks are gone now and i would give anything to have them back like they were. I used to get sick and tired of watching Emmett Hahn win all the time but would love to live it again. So please enjoy what you have and be thankful for it. You never know how long it will last.

I don't ever make it to K-ville to even see him race. I know that he's fast but he's not God. I just looked up his stats for this season and out of 14 A main starts he only has 4 wins. 4 2nd place finishes. There are plenty of other people in the country that have better stats than that! Why is anyone concerned what he does at Knoxville. I'm not!

do it in the dirt
