So what this is really saying is most of the outlaw guys will come close to making their usual dollars in an event (except if you were the lucky one to put it in victory lane) due to the Woo regulars getting extra tow money but the weekly racers and PA Posse are the real ones who are racing for less on the mid-week shows. That is the way I look at it.

Maybe if its the Posse your worried about, the Beer Hill Gang could always raise money and pay the Posse drivers tow money too. Or they could go race at a mid-week show in PA that pays better.

My point being if the locals or non-platinum racers don't like the payout they are free to not showup (they will though). Only the Full-time guys are really forced to go or give up a much larger payday. As far as going to watch the show as a spectator, my opinion is the prize payout doesn't affect the show you'll see at all.

The Lincoln WOO show is paying a reduced purse with only $6000 to win. There was talk by some teams at Eldora that they might sit it out.

It's just another way WRG can put more money in there pockets..... It's doesn't cost any less to run a show mid week or on the week end so there for they all should pay $10,000 to win.....they should be ashamed of them selves......

Keepinitrealdumb do you suppose the tracks are benefiting by lessening the risk of booking a risky mid week show? Smaller purse gives a little wiggle room in the profit margin for the tracks don't ya think? Pretty complicated thought I know but one you might still try and consider just the same.
Cheers!

Agreed Henry. Is it possible that WRG listened to the complaints last year that the racers and fans wanted more shows on the schedule, Well there are only so many weekends in a year so that means to add shows you need to put them during the week, tracks are leary of a mid-week show I'm sure because you will almost certainly get a weaker turnout, so the $4000 in less payout helps hedge the bet. WRG group could say all races are $20,000 to win at least and then when they have a 20 race schedule for the year we can complain about that.

I don't mind the $6K to win races as look at all the bullrings it brought back to the schedule; Kokomo, Bloomington, Farmer City and Lincoln.

If I was a driver/team, I would much rather race 3 times a week vs. 2 times..... especially with the high price of gas.

Henry & Speed are right on.

Amazed how many don't understand the basics of math, economics, risk, or trying to run a profitable enterprise.

Haha. "Keepinitrealdumb" ... I love it. Plus, Keepinitrealdumb missed the fact that there is zero cost incurred from the teams to tow to Lincoln since they are already at the Grove on Friday. So it "is" cheaper for the teams.

Am I a bad fan because I don't give a crap about the purse and the guys who don't show up to a race that I attend...? :/

Opinions may vary...

The Outlaws aren't going to feel it since most of them will run in the back anyway. Top Posse teams are the ones who will be out thousands.
