The Lincoln WOO show is paying a reduced purse with only $6000 to win. There was talk by some teams at Eldora that they might sit it out.

It was multiple full-time outlaw times discussing this. This was as upset as I've seen so many teams in a long time. Many have not even signed contracts yet.

I can't figure out why if they are only paying 6000 to win.....why do I have to pay $30. When they pay $10,000 at the Grove I pay the same price.

Because Lincoln will only hold about half the people the Grove will hold.

The Outlaws aren't going to feel it since most of them will run in the back anyway. Top Posse teams are the ones who will be out thousands.
They don't even know how to spell sprint car
much less chromoly...http://www.ycmco.com

All mid week shows pay $6,000 to win,not just Lincoln, the reason behind this is so it won't feel as big a drop in prizemoney next year when all the races are cut from $10,000 to $6,000 to win next year! They are just getting the teams used to running for less money now, then next year BAM, every race pays a whopping $6,000 to win!! So get use to it!

At the midweek shows the contracted teams receive double appearance money or $1,000.00.
However the sanction fee remains at $25,000.00 for the hosting track.

They should all sit out, cause Schatz is going to clean house this week.

Since everyone is so satisfied and even insisting on horsepower and overall car performance remaining at 1980s and 1990s numbers, its fitting that the purses should stay there as well. I have to assume a ticket will be 11 dollars as it was in 1988 however. That is what the watered-down cookie cutter WoO equipment is worth. In 1988 (when Casey Lunas's Ford was making a REAL 800, a ticket was 11 bucks and a full point show paid 5000) a top of the line Mustang from your local Ford dealer, made 225 horsepower. 2013: A now antique engine like Luna's is illegal and a bone stock Mustang right off the assembly line makes 650 and 600 lb ft of torque on Sheetz gas!
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

I'll be using a bone stock 5.0 Ford engine to get me to and from the Fabulous... :/

The main point here is: Go on the WoO drivers page and all 11 of those guys will be there and I would say odds are very good that Sides will be too. They'll all have their foot on the gas the same as if you went to a $10,000 to win show.
I think this same thing was discussed at length on here about 2 weeks ago too.

This really isn't much different than an All Star payout. Plenty of the teams had no problem running for the All Star payout in Florida to get the cars/drivers ready for the WoO season.

So what this is really saying is most of the outlaw guys will come close to making their usual dollars in an event (except if you were the lucky one to put it in victory lane) due to the Woo regulars getting extra tow money but the weekly racers and PA Posse are the real ones who are racing for less on the mid-week shows. That is the way I look at it.
