DOLLANSKY, STEWART AND WEIKERT ON WINGED NATION -- Live Food Tasting Part of the Fun
CONCORD, N.C. – Tuesday's "Winged Nation" is shaping up to be a great show with Craig Dollansky, Shane Stewart and Todd Weikert joining Kendra Jacobs and Steve Post. The one-hour show airs live at noon eastern on www.MotorRacingNetwork.com and is available online for the rest of the week.
Dollansky, known as "The Crowd Pleaser" has the sprint car world talking after a big World of Outlaws win at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind. Midway through the feature while racing in traffic the cars of Dollansky and Joey Saldana got together resulting in Saldana's car flipping on the front straightaway. Sprint car fans have been "weighing in" on the incident since.
The win was Dollansky's second victory of the season putting him in a tie for most wins this year.
Stewart picked up a new ride, driving for Joe Gaerte and Tim Norman, and debuted in victory lane Saturday night at Freemont (Ohio) Speedway. It kicked off his North America season after a successful couple of months of racing in Australia.
Weikert is the son of the late Bob Weikert – Hall of Fame sprint car owner. On Saturday night, Port Royal Speedway in Pennsylvania will host the UNOH All-Stars in the $10,000-to-win Bob Weikert Memorial. There is also a big amount of lap money and special contingencies on the program and if a driver dominates, he can walk away with over $13,000.
Also, sprint car racer Terry McCarl – a 6-time Knoxville Raceway track champion -- announced a few weeks back a sponsorship program with Larry the Cable Guy's "Lord I Apologize Barbecue Sauces". During the show Jacobs and Post will do a tasting of the two types: "Hotter than Hell" with ghost chili peppers and "Heartland Gizzard Tickler Kansas City Style".
"Winged Nation" covers winged sprint car racing across America each week streamed live at noon Eastern and then available on www.MotorRacingNetwork.com throughout the week. Jacobs is the daughter of sprint car legend Kenny Jacobs and a former Miss Knoxville Nationals. Post is a broadcaster with MRN Radio and passionate dirt track racing fan.
