In looking at the payout for meekers spring special, esp for mods and 360 sprints, i find the payout posted a little sneaky. It looks like a normal payout sheet until you read the fine print. Only 25% is for friday night and its only $250 to win and only $25 for TENTH on back. NOT GOOD. Then saturday is $750 to win which is ok for their standards but only $75 for TENTH on back. Cant imagine cars wasting good rubber for this payout. Teams need to read the wording closely on their website.

Brill Spring Nationals Pay for Mods and 360 Sprints (translated version)

fridaysaturday

1. $250.00$ 750.00

2. $187.50$ 562.50

3. $125.00$ 375.00

4. $87.50$ 262.50

5. $75.00$ 225.00

6. $50.00$ 150.00

7. $37.50$ 112.50

8. $31.25$ 93.75

9. $28.75$ 86.25

10th on down:

$25.00$ 75.00

No offense but I am sure Mark would love to add money to the purse if you are so well inclined to do so. Also, at least Mark is steeping out here and having a special race. Any special race is a crap shoot anyhow on how many cars and fans will show up.

Have you been a promoter before? If so tell us how you would do they payout.

Also can't make everyone happy all the time, what i think he is trying to do is for all the ones who want a little money for Friday night is what he is doing 25% and then the other 75% for Sat night, cause there are always some wanting some money for thier race effort on both nights, i think it is a good thing to have a early season special, and look forward to it.

kudos to Mark Brill for trying something.

although I think I agree in principal with what the original post MAY have been about. It's only my personal opinion, but I've always liked purses with the emphasis on the bottom/what it pays to start versus the top and what it pays to win.

But, I also agree with Danny and Cheese......shouldn't fault Mark Brill for thinkin' outside the box. It's a good thing he isn't content to just sit back and go about business as usual like so many others do when the fundamental economics of this sport have clearly changed in so many ways.

No offense to you either and no i havent been a promoter but i sure would know better than to insult the sprint car and modified guys with a $25 pay for tenth place on back for any kind of night, prelim or otherwise. I never said saturday was aweful but $75 for tenth is really low. Lanny edwards is as cheap as they come and he even pays $100 for 10th on a regular night with no entry fee and a car count in the teens

You give me your payout then if you were running a track. I am just curious.

I bet you would be surprised on the number of cars that will show up. There is even a champ driver that responded in regards to this topic.

LOL that's not really fair E.

You have to take a whole bunch of numbering factors into account - it's kind of a lot to expect this one guy to do LOL.

It's not a great purse, but suggestions should respectfully be put to Brill - and if you can back your suggestion up with something showing an increase in the money comin back to you that also increases the quality of the show......I'd imagine he would do it.

But honestly - for years I railed at how things could be done better - and while I still have a ton of ideas.....I see now while many hundreds just kinda took the surface of my thoughts with a grain of salt lol. none of us really have any time. and the more time you probably got on your hands - the less intelligence you probably have to make good use of it. jmho LOL.

Not sure if you can make out the yellow numbers from Elk city's web page but if you can't here's a link http://elkcitydirttrack.com/Pay_Scale.html do the math for running here 2 nights and this is the weekly purse! Now tell me why I would want to go to a 2 day show like Brill is having and Clinton had been trying to run. Lawton's weekly payout is identical to Elk City's but the web marshal on my company network wouldn't let me access it. A 2 day show forces you to buy 2 times the pit passes an entry fee and I would have to buy breakfast, lunch and dinner for me and anyone who went with me on Saturday......Next opinion from the stands?

Ca with you that make four people with cars that responded to this post. Pay out schedules can be discussed and disected all day long. That is just the nature of the sport we are in. There will be always someone not happy with a payout in one way or the other.

Granted the payout at Elk is bigger from your evidence shown. However, the promoters at Elk might have more sponsors than Brill does for the payout. We do know that Lanny has been around alont longer than Brill in the promoting game. Brill tried to bring in special shows last year but lost in the deal. So he is gun shy to do it this year. It is tough to be a track in these times.

Like I said in a ealier post if you do not like the payout help Mark out in giving him a few extra bucks. I know as racers we skim the bottom of the barrel sometimes to get the car out on the track. There is nothing saying you can not give 14th place an extra 25 bucks for thier showing.

Mark is providing us a place to race. If he did not then racers in the metro area rather you do not like the track or the promotor would not have anything.

Well with the Friday night show being canceled, does anyone know what the payout is now for the Saturday Show, will it be Full Purse $1000 to win or will it be the same Saturday Purse $750 to win.

Thanks

EZ there Kyle. I put my own name to everything I post. KOP is what I signed on with when I originally got my account. If you care to address your 'concern', you have my number. I would be more than happy to field a call from you.

Nothing really Cody. It was a made up nick when I joined a chat room several years ago and when I first signed up for my account here, I just used it again.
