one final correction - I am blaming lack of sleep -After yellow for DeCaires; Wiesz was the leader. Hirst tracked him down later in the race and passed him him for the lead.

The racing surface was tacky all night. It was an exciting finish with Croft catching Hirst going into turn 3 of the last lap. A great finish to a good 1st night of racing! It was the first time I've seen Tommy Tarlton at Marysville and he was definitely making his presence felt in the A main.
Sure wish they'd get a scoreboard and/or a better PA system. I'd attend more races at Marysville with those improvements.

I know it was an open tire and wing race. But did you see the wing on the 21 car. Tommy played with that wing more then normal.

He was running that wing last year. Tommy's dad told me the wing is the same angle as all the rest but they have rotated the side panels which makes it look like the rear is really jacked up.

the center section was cut, reangled and then had a fin like thing on the top part of the middle section. but yes his location of the side panels are the way they were last year.

One ? Rules for this wing ? Looks a little odd I also saw that last year .
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

I know you were all waiting breathlessly but it's been a busy week. I was real impressed with what Paul and Kathy Hawes have done with this facility. I haven't been there in three years and the improvements just in that short a period of time have been nothing short of amazing. My first trip there was in 1991 and over the years by a variety of players improvements have been made but I can honestly say that in my 31 years of being around racing I haven't seen anyone put as much into a race track in Northern California in as short a period of time as these guys have. They are to be commended and it would be nice if others stepped up their game. I called Kyle Hirst as the winner during the red flag. It looked like it was his race and it turned out to be the case on this occasion. Hopefully that team can kick some ass this season because they looked real strong. All in all a good first race of the season that I wouldn't have even known about if it hadn't been a chance text from Sheree Toller. Still miss you Sherm!

They've done a nice job in Marysville. The track surface was tacky
yet racey last Saturday and has been my last couple of visits. There
was action all over that track during the main event. I've seen a race
or two there in the past that I couldn't actually see because of the
dust. That certainly hasn't been my experience lately.
I do like that the seats all have backs and the stands are close to
the track. I took my 6 year old grandson with me and he had a blast.
Many of the drivers and teams in the pits were so attentive to the
kids, it really put a cherry on top of their night! Also, the taco hut
in turn four is a nice change of pace from your typical dirt track
cuisine.
I'm hoping they can continue to improve the fan experience with
features like a PA system that can be heard or even better, a
scoreboard. I'm definitely looking forward to the upcoming KWS and
Civil War shows there!
