WOW - that's great news! I've always admired his drive as a promoter but apparently didn't realize his acumen/talent as a driver.
Please tell me that Kurt Busch didn't visit East Bay and take out the front of the field.... and yes I'm = JUST KIDDING!!!
Congrats to Glenn!! Hope he gets a few more wins this year!!!

Track took rubber early in the first B main. After the B's they told everyone they could run Hards on the RR. Problem was only three guys had Hards! That's really fair??? So everyone else went out with mediums trying to save tires. Styres and Darren Long had hards and finished 1-2. There was a caution for Shane Stewart (who had been leading) w/ six laps to go for a blown RR and then the track decided to have an open RED for fuel and tires. If you changed tires you had to go to the back. Half the field put on new tires!!!!!! Terry McCarl was the leader at the time w/ cords showing on his RR medium and opted to not change tires and keep track position. On the restart Sides was second and had already pitted w/ a RR flat and changed but track officials said he had gone a lap down. McCarls RR blew two laps later and Sides had the lead. Another caution came out and Sides was flagged to the rear of the field to make up his lap. He was not happy but went to the rear of the field. On the last restart Long was leading and Styres drove around him and took the lead then missing his mark in 1&2 w/ two to go but then ran Long back down and drove under and of of four coming to the checkered. It was a great race to watch as a spectator but not as a racer. The track conditions where uncalled for and I know alot of guys who won't go back next year. Best part was there was a tire fire right next to Sides trailer after the race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope. The chev is a big advantage when the track surface completely sucks. Look for even less track prep as more fords come around. Only nascar could have made things worse than last night.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

They had plenty of Hards and kept announcing that the truck had hards available to purchase. The only thing they were short on were harder compound Hoosier LR's. The winning team purchased both of their tires at the last minute after transferring to the A.
They had plenty of hard GY lefts. Sides went a lap down in the pits. They announced he went a lap down immediately when he came back out on the next caution and also came on the raceiver and multiple times said he was a lap down. They were even all told again on the red after they tried arguing they weren't.

What a season for the record book so far. Got to see the last ever USAC race at Bubba Raceway Park and a definite contender for worst prepared ( or not prepared ) track of the year at East Bay. Happy for Glenn and his win.

Some day someone smart will require Sprint tires that don't transfer rubber to the track. Until then car counts and attendance will continue to suffer. All it takes is one crappy rubberdown race to keep most casual fans away/ they may not even know why the race they watched sucked. All it would take is tire compounds from the early-mid 90s.

What truck and what GY's???????????? The only tires we new of was the two old guys in the building off turn one. The only LR's they had were D10's! And they definitely had no RR hards. Meyers had a LR GY but it was a 100. Where did you guys find these tires?

Now that I have slowed down my speach I can spell much better and maybe I can get across to you 360 people much better. So Hoosier Tires was blowing but no 3 pages of hatred to be seen over tire choice of Hoosier and if this had been a 410 Goodyear fiasco it would grow to epic proportions!
410JAMES who hates having to talk slower it makes me sound more retarted

The hardest working track officials on Saturday night were those opening and closing the pit gates.

Yes, it was inside of the building near the registration/pill draw. They had an entire pallet of Hoosier Hard RR's, and another pallet of GY 200 93's and 95's. As many as they had after the B main, there is no way they could have even come close to selling out. That is why they kept coming on the PA system telling everyone they had hards available to anyone that needs them. The only thing they were short on were harder compound Hoosier Lefts.
