Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial lap money for sale
Chico, CA – February 23, 2012...The 22nd annual “Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial” at Silver Dollar Speedway will be here in early-May and to get a head start on things lap money is on sale for the prestigious event.
If anyone would like to purchase a lap please contact Dave and Dianne Durica at [email protected] or 916-988-5958.
All of the money goes back to the racers and helps make this event unique and special like it has been for so many years. The laps cost $100 and are split between the top 3 in the A-main and LCQ each lap. The leader gets $50, 2nd place $30 and 3rd place $20.
In addition to lap money if anyone has anything they would like to donate for the event contact Dave and Dianne to give them the details.
There is already $500 up for grabs to the fast qualifier courtesy of Jason and Robyn Meyers in memory of "Carwash" Mike Avilla. In fact the fast time award at the Bradway Memorial will be known as the "Carwash Mike" fast time award.
The Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial is considered the cornerstone event for the Cancen Oil King of the West Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear and will take place on Saturday May 5 in Chico.
Last season’s edition of the Bradway Memorial saw an epic main event that featured four different leaders during the 40-lapper and in the end it was Clovis resident Peter Murphy, who charged from 15th starting to claim the huge victory. Roger Crockett finished second and also put on a thrilling charge after starting 18th in the feature.

Fast time at the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial on May 5 will be known as the "Carwash Mike Fast Time Award" and is already up to $500 courtesy of Jason and Robyn Meyers.
Chico's Jonathan Allard has been the fast qualifier each of the last four-years at the Bradway and has taken home an amazing $4500 in qualifying winnings alone at the event.

I love the Bradway. It's a race I hope to never have to miss. One thing I would like to throw out there is a possible different way of doing the lap money which, I think, could potentially make the race even bigger $$ wise. The first thing I would suggest is to make the final lap in memory of Jr. Anyone, and I mean anyone, who wants to throw some money on that lap in memory of him can do so which could potentially make leading that final lap worth a WHOLE lot of money. As far as the other laps go make them $100 a lap but once assigned let other people contribute to that lap if they want to. Continue to split all laps between the top three because that is a cool deal. I know some may think I'm nutty for the idea but I do have one example: People who knew Sherm Toller are going to always want to have a lap for him. I personally will always contribute at least $50 to make sure that happens but I'm sure there are others and maybe even some that feel left out because it's probably not fair to have more than one lap for Sherm. Just make it so that everyone who wants to can throw money at that lap. Each lap will be at least worth $100 but some will be worth more. It's been a long time but I remember way back the Johnny Key (maybe even the Lloyd Beard) 100 lap races all had lap sponsors and I know some laps were worth more than others. Just an idea.

chris, back in the day lap money for the johnny key was contributed to what ever lap a person wanted and there was no minimum or maximum limit on the amount of money that could be contributed to each lap. also no limit on the amount of people who could contribute to any lap.
you naturally had some laps worth more, but 'ol kenny takeuchi was great at getting bidding wars going over numbers, and having others match the amount on other numbers.
to indy and beyond!!

An un-named person has donated another $200 to the fast time award so we are already up to $800 for the "Carwash Mike Fast Time Award."

Forever my favorite.... Fortunate enough to have met JR when he drove my cousins 82 car, the one he ended up upside down in turn 4 at calistoga. Thanks to everyone who continues to keep the memory of my all time favorite driver alive.
