I went to Cedar Lake last night to check things out in preparation for the Masters and did a test & tune of some camera settings I wanted to try. The results are in the photo gallery.

There is a free wallpaper 1280x1024 and 1024x768 as well.

What happened to you last night? I looked around and you were gone by the time the features started. See you at CLS next weekend.

I worked in the yard all day and had planned to eat when I got to the track. When I got there I found that I forgot my wallet at home and only had 75 cents, not even enough for a bottle of water. I hadn't eaten since 7:30am and my mouth felt like it was full of cotton after working in the hot sun all day. I decided to go home so I could get something to eat and drink because I was starting to feel light headed.

I'd have stuck around but it looked like they were about to blade again and I already had plenty of pictures. Speaking of pictures, the kiosks are out of order at the store where I get my photos processed and they said it might be as much as a month before they get them working again. Now I've got to find another convenient place where I can get my photos developed of of CD's or CF cards. The Ritz in the skyway is too expensive to use and I ride a vanpool so I can't stop on the way home. Forest Lake must have somewhere else reasonably priced where I can take a CD. Some of the guys use Sam's Club but that's a 50 mile round trip from here and I'd have to drop them off then make another trip to go get them. 100 miles or even 50 is too much to spend on gas and still make a buck on an 8x10.

Everything is out of whack this week. frown

I have had that happen too, Stan. One night I was at CLS and found myself in the same boat with no money, so I took a loan out from the bank of GRP. I probably would have done the same thing if I wasn't feeling good. It really sucks the fun out of shooting and watching races when you don't feel good.

Both Wal-Mart and Target have the Kodak photo kiosks and I've seen them in some grocieries stores. The kiosks cost a little more than the 1 hour service, but time is worth something as well. I like to put my photos on a usb drive, and the one hour kiosks don't take them at Wal-Mart, so I've started using the Kodak ones our of convience. They work good as long as you don't have a lot of copies to make as they print rather slow.

Walmart had a Kodak Kiosk but it was a couple dollars more than the one hour processing and there's already a slim profit margin on the photos. There's a lot going on this week so I didn't have time to run around Forest Lake checking out the other stores. I'm sure that Walmart will get their machines fixed within a week but the clerk on duty couldn't give me a time table.

I wasn't sick but you know that worn down feeling you get when you haven't ate all day. On top of that it was hot and dry in the yard so I was already low on fluids and 75 cents wasn't enough for a bottle of water. I'll have to remember to tuck a $20 away somewhere in case I do that again.

Just a follow up. Photo processing kiosks are back up and running.
