Is Lawson road opened back up yet? Sure makes it easier to get to the track. Ready for some racing!

Heard from someone today who goes by Lawson Rd. on Hwy. 80 and said it is not open , heck the back way to Da Bowl not that bad ,besides they got a Chicken Express on the way , can stop and get a cup of some tasty Ice Tea.

There is a Lawson road detour. You can exit about a mile before Lawson road and take it south to the north side of the airport go back east until it deadends at Lawson road then go back south. Look it up on like google maps you should be able to figure it out. We have taken that route the two times that we went to the devils bowl last year. Another route to take is exit off of 635 at old military pkwy Rd which is about a mile south of the hwy 80 exit and take that road back to the east. You have to go through downtown mesquite and some traffic lights. It will deadend at the airport and then go back north to the first road then back east to Lawson south on Lawson until you reach the bowl.

Lanny Edwards spoke with the project foreman last week. They will start pouring concrete within two weeks. It will remain two lane, adding wide shoulders to both sides. Completion date is expected sometime mid to late April. Unfortunately it won't be done by Spring Nationals in March, but construction will end soon, and we can't wait!
