Wouldn't it be cool if next year you could say, remember when Trevor Bayne was the youngest ever 500 winner!
What I'm waiting for though is for 21WFO or WTF whatever to come on here and fill us all in on how Kyle bought his ride with Earnhardt, Ganassi, Sebatas racing, they must really need the money to let Kyle's family buy a peice of that pie!
Maybe he's too busy pouring Champagne on himself.

At this rate, has anyone ever proved theirselves to be more worthy of a spot in either 500?
I always liked the fantasy line ups for the Indy and Daytona races.... Larson definitely has the pole for 2012....

Hopefully I earned some browny points on Threadkillers radar... He's been pretty harsh to me lately...

IMO I'd like to see Ganassi groom him for an IRL Indy car ride. We need to get some of these young American wheelman back in Indy cars instead of NASCAR taking them all...

It's hilarious over on the IndyCar Trackforum website. Those guys say that drivers like Larson and all the other open wheel guys who have gone on to NASCAR couldn't cut in IndyCar because they haven't been "properly trained."
I just laugh... when they speak of not being properly trained, what they actually mean is that they don't come from another country and bring a check with them to buy their ride.
I too wish Kyle would be racing soon in the Indy 500, but oh well.... there's always Takuma Sato and Simona de Silvestro

Sooner or later that golden horseshoe is going to hit a peg.I need to know why Chip didn't sign a real candidate for his development program that rocket man from Wish con sin ,one Kurt Winker, now that cat can could carry the mail or the groceries,or a sprint car,he has just as many qualifications as Kyle,or so I hear.Maybe the wing has something to with it?

I like the Track Forum board. There are a ton of knowledgeable posters over there when it comes to IndyCar racing or AOWR in general. But there is definitely a sentiment over there among some posters (not all) that dirt track racing, or Sprint Car/Midget racing, is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to American motorsports. If someone is an Indy Car fan and didn't grow up around Sprint Car/Midget racing, I can see why a fan would have that opinion when the majority of the IndyCar drivers of the past couple decades have come through the IndyCar training grounds like Indy Lights and Toyota Atlantic.
That isn't a defense of that opinion, but it's hard for a non-fan to look at Sprint Car/Midget racing and see the validity of winning in those series when the overwhelming majority of IndyCar drivers these days come through the IndyCar feeder divisions.
It's just a different type of fanbase over there, much like a Sprint Car board like this one doesn't give much respect to IndyCar and NASCAR. Most of the fans that visit Track Forum do so because they are interested in IndyCar racing; a lot of them couldn't care less about dirt track racing or Sprint Cars and Midgets. If you visit Track Forum wanting to read about Sprint Car and Midget drivers, you are visiting the wrong board, just like coming here and wanting to read about Josef Newgarten or Raphael Matos is probably not the right message board to read about those drivers.

The hottest race driver in America today isn't NASCAR's Jeff Gordon or Indy car's Jacques Villeneuve. It's Billy Boat, a U.S. Auto Club midget car racer from Phoenix. August of 95...........http://articles.latimes.com/keyword/billy-boat
SPORTS June 14, 1997 'Running midgets at Ventura is more fun, but this pays more.' Driver Billy Boat, who will race a midget car tonight at Ventura Raceway, after finishing seventh in the Indianapolis 500.

Billy graduated from College (ASU) while he was still running sprints, Midgets, and Champ cars, and founded his own business in 86.. http://www.bbexhaust.com/ After teaming up with Beck Motorsports and Curb/Agajanian in 2001 with a 4th place finish in points. The following year he teamed up with Agajanian.... Boat/Agajanian finished 13th in points that year. He ran Indy in 2003 for Panther Martin and like the smart man that he is, he folded his hand and walked away with the $$ and a thriving business. The promises that Tony George had made were gone by this time, and the money to run with the IRL had skyrocket with the broken promises. He was in the right place at the right time, and JJ Yeley another AZ boy, ran Indy in the later part of that era too. Also, Chad was young but well on his way in his racing career and Billy wanted to be, and was always there for him. Still is.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

I actually don't disagree that much with you there. For all the grief and outrage people on here and other dirt track boards have over Danica Patrick, she was largely the only reason IndyCar got any kind of mainstream publicity whatsover the last several years. And now that is gone. Not to be ghoulish or bloodthirsty, but I have learned a lot of different stuff about some of the fatal Indy car/F1 crashes of the '60-80s and what specifically happened in particular crashes just from reading some of the knowledgeable old school posters over on the Track Forum board.

i am not saying there are not some people there who aren't knowledgeable.
the old school people over there should school the young ones over the importance of dirt racing to their sports history.
the open wheel indy stars of yesterday could be seen one week on pavement and the next on dirt.
right now some of the nascar stars that ran on pavement this afternoon are racing on dirt as we speak.
i saw dario franchitti in the pits at a woo race quite a few years ago. he was totally lost.
to indy and beyond!!
