Knoxville Raceway
27 410s
35 360s
410s
Bronson Maeschen (10th car out to time) set quick time for the second time this year at 14.804. Dusty Zomer (12th car out) was second quick, followed by Calvin Landis (3rd), Skip Jackson (2nd), Brian Brown (11th), Wayne Johnson (14th), Clint Garner (20th), Brent Antill (22nd), Davey Heskin (6th) and Rager Phillips (13th). The track was a heavy one and narrow through the heats.
Heat one (started): 1. Jerry Richert Jr. 63 (1) 2. Ricky Logan 10 (2) 3. Jackson 2 (5) 4. Phillips 9 (3) 5. Jack Potter (8) 6. Bob Weuve 19 (7) / 7. Garner 40 (4) 8. Maeschen 96 (6) 9. Dennis Moore Jr. (9)
A three-wide try going into turn two on a narrow track was a recipe for disaster as Maeschen barrel-rolled a few times, Garner sustained heavy damage, and Moore Jr., with nowhere to go, suffered heavy front end damage. All were done. Weuve, who suffered heavy top wing damage in the fray, returned to take the green and the final transfer spot to the A, while Richert wired the five car single-file field.
Heat two (started): 1. Billy Alley 55 (2) 2. Brown 21 (5) 3. Zomer 1z (6) 4. Tony Shilling 47T (1) 5. Antill 1 (4) 6. Mark Dobmeier 13L (3) / 7. Mike Deavers 72 (8) 8. Greg Jones 3J (9) 9. Jon Corbin 15 (7)
Alley shot out to an early lead in the 8 lapper ahead of Shilling. On lap five a 7th running Corbin appeared to have something break in the steering and coasted into the turn two wall. He was done for the night. The restart saw Alley leading Shilling, Zomer, Brown and Antill back to green. Brown surged in the last three laps, but couldn't quite run down the leader.
Heat three (started): 1. Kaley Gharst 3 (3) 2. Ryan Anderson 71R (1) 3. Mike Moore 69 (2) 4. Landis 70 (6) 5. Johnson 14AJ (5) 6. Heskin 56 (4) / 7. Randy Anderson 81 (7) 8. Jack Dover 53 (8) 9. Robert Bell 71 (9)
Ry. Anderson led a mostly single-file, invert six-take six affair until the last corner when Gharst supplied some excitement with a winning pass.
B main (started): 1. Garner (2) 2. Moore Jr. (6) / 3. Dover (5) 4. Maeschen (1) 5. Deavers (4) 6. Ra. Anderson (3) 7. Jones (7) 8. Bell (8) DNS - Corbin
The crews of Garner and Maeschen did well to get the front row starters ready for this 8 lapper. Garner led throughout, and Moore Jr. had a great jump at the start to capture the final tranfer.
A main (started): 1. Zomer (6) 2. Jackson (4) 3. Johnson (2) 4. Brown (3) 5. Alley (12) 6. Gharst (10) 7. Antill (1) 8. Logan (11) 9. Dobmeier (9) 10. Moore Jr. (20) 11. Heskin (7) 12. Phillips (8) 13. Garner (19) 14. M. Moore (13) 15. Shilling (15) 16. Richert (14) 17. Potter (18) 18. Weuve (17) 19. Ry. Anderson (16) 20. Landis (5)
Antill took the early lead ahead of Johnson in the 20 lapper. Zomer had a good start and was in third by lap four when Moore Jr. came to a stop in turn three. Another lap was in the books before Ry. Anderson stopped high in turn one bringing another caution. Now Antill led Zomer, who had gotten around Johnson, Jackson, Brown and Landis back to green flag racing. Zomer used the low side of the speedway to shoot under Antill and pull away for the lead on lap six. By lap nine, Antill had developed nose wing problems, and Landis brought the final slowdown of the night when he appeared to have a breakage and drift into the turn two wall. Now Zomer lead Antill, Jackson, Johnson, Alley and Brown. Alley and Brown battled fiercely with Brown performing a slide job that failed. He lost a spot (sixth to Gharst) but would regain it and pass Alley, who drifted in the middle of turn one, on the final lap. Antill would fade to seventh with the nose win damage. Zomer's win was his second of the year at Knoxville. Another fierce battle between Logan and Dobmeier for eighth went to Logan.
360s
Heat one (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Nate Van Haaften 3 (4*) 2. CJ Houseman Jr. Y5 (1*) 3. Brett Golik 5G (8*) 4. Dustin Selvage 7 (5*) 5. Frankie Heimbaugh 04 (7*) 6. Jordan St. Arnold 7s (3) 7. Tyler Houseman 50 (6) 8. Brent Vonk 21V (9) 9. Glen Hunt G74 (2)
CJ Houseman led the first lap, but was edged by Van Haaften on the second. Van Haaften pulled away to win the 7 lapper. Golik moved up well despite a narrow track.
Heat two (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Josh Higday 2x (1*) 2. Jesse Giannetto 86x (2*) 3. Gregg Bakker 11x (3*) 4. John Schulz 2 (4*) 5. John Hall 7H (6) 6. Tom Lenz 8L (5) 7. Alan Zoutte 33 (8) 8. Danny Heskin 65 (7) 9. Don Dawson II 6D (9)
Higday smoked the field in a parade.
Heat three (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Jake Peters 57x (1*) 2. Brett Mather 54 (2*) 3. Natalie Sather 94s (6*) 4. Josh Schneiderman 49 (4) 5. Johnny Anderson 7a (7) 6. Nate Mosher 22N (8) 7. Russ Hall 29 (5) 8. Dave Glennon 5x (9) 9. Bryan Dobesh 2D (3)
Peters dominated this one. On lap two, Dobesh was running third when he jumped the turn four inside berm and dislodged his hood enough to block his vision. He was pushed to the work area and the race resumed without him. Sather has qualified for every feature at Knoxville, and passed two cars immediately from the third row, and made a good charge to third.
Heat four (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Matt Moro 2m (2*) 2. Dave Hall 51 (4*) 3. Mike Houseman Jr. Y2 (1*) 4. Joe Beaver 53 (8*) 5. Jeff Mitrisin 10 (6) 6. Larry Pinegar II 00 (3) 7. Rick Ideus 5 (5) 8. Tyler Thompson 48 (7)
Moro led flag to flag. D. Hall and Houseman Jr. put on a good battle for second. Beaver charged nicely from the tail. Mitrisin was threatening third with three to go, and Houseman Jr. shut the door on him. Mitrisin checked up so hard he jumped the cushion and lost fourth to Beaver.
B main (started): 1. J. Anderson (2) 2. J. Hall (3) 3. Schneiderman (1) 4. Mitrisin (4) / 5. Mosher (5) 6. Dobesh (17) 7. Pinegar (8) 8. Lenz (7) 9. R. Hall (9) 10. Ideus (12) 11. Glennon (14) 12. T. Houseman (10) 13. St. Arnold (6) 14. Vonk (11) 15. Heskin (13) 16. Hunt (15) 17. Dawson (16) DNS - Zoutte, Thompson
J. Anderson checked out on the field in the 10 lapper. The real excitement came from Dobesh, as he charged from the tail to sixth in the non-stop event.
A main (started): 1. Peters (2) 2. Higday (3) 3. D. Hall (1) 4. Beaver (11) 5. Sather (7) 6. Giannetto (9) 7. Houseman Jr. (13) 8. Moro (4) 9. Mather (10) 10. Bakker (12) 11. Selvage (14) 12. J. Hall (18) 13. Heimbaugh (15) 14. Scheiderman (19) 15. Schulz (16) 16. Van Haaften (6) 17. CJ Houseman (8) 18. Anderson (17) 19. Mitrisin (20) 20. Golik (5)
Golik elected for the tail and pulled off early. D. Hall led lap one, but Peters drove under him on lap two and never looked back, gaining his 10th career Knoxville win. One stoppage came on lap five and involved Mitrisin and Anderson. Mitrisin got the worst of it, as he rolled on the frontstretch. He was uninjured. Anderson repaired rear-end damage and a flat right rear. Peters led D. Hall, Higday, Sather and Moro back to green. Higday was able to dispose of D. Hall for second, and Beaver completed a nice charge into fourth by the checkers to capture hard-charger honors.

Bill, is 27 410s really low for a weekly show at Knoxville? I am not real familiar with weekly Knoxville 410 counts all-time, but I have tried to at least follow the weekly results there for the last 15 years or so. Are the 410s starting to hurt numbers wise in the area?

Is it just me, or is Brown really becoming a dirty driver? Saw 2 bad slide jobs last night, and then of course last week.

He has had a tough time at Husets this year hope does good when the outlaws are there. He should go ok at Kville with them on a bigger track. Husets might be a different story , wish him all the best Go Zoom Zoom.
