From what sometimes seen and heard on 3WIDE tonight,,,it was a rip off!!! Knoxville has a great PPV. from the few times Ive watched hands down better than Dirtvision or 3wide!!

Yes the stream from Knoxville is very good quality and very stable. BUT - they likely have less than half the viewers/users than DV does and are from the same location every week = stable/steady bandwidth considerations. T2Media/Knoxville also uses a VERY interesting/cutting edge video stream server that results in the stream being distributed to and then pulled from multiple distribution points.
Word is DV is using a new on-site stream encoder this year and (at least for Volusia) will have a couple more POV cams. Tune in and see how it works. Hopefully their bandwidth will be able to handle the usage demand.

Thanks for the heads up! Yes I will reup with Dirtvision it does seem to improve and you are correct on the amount of users.I recall a few years back Volusia was not even cell phone friendly being the location.

LIVE streaming of sporting events is still (unfortunately) in its 'infancy' - even NBC was widely bashed for its first-time attempt at streaming the Super Bowl on the interweb this year. With NBC's immense financial/IT department resources - one could take into the consideration the headaches/roadblocks associated with someone 'relatively small' like DV or 3WL trying to present their product successfully.
BTW and FYI (for those of you who are not aware of the difference) - streaming of 'cached content' = already encoded and therefore not live streaming video - is a LOT less server/bandwidth intensive as streaming live events.

My first experience with three wide this weekend went perfect! I didn't order the Thursday show, but I did order the Friday show that was rained out. It had came right up for me, and I was having no problems what so ever until the rain came. I looked on their site to see what they were going to do about the rainout, and found a message that they would be sending a email the next day to all who had ordered for that night. Saturday I received that email with a link to sigh in on. I did, and again the stream started with no problems; and by the way, that was one hell of a finish, wasn't it?
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.
