Approximately 12 inches of dirt was cultivated with a sub-soil mixer and
combined with the materials that have been applied to the racing
surface over the past three seasons since the Hafertepe's have taken
over the track. Then it was graded into place and tilled.
There are still a few more projects that are in the works between now
and opening night, which features a $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model
Series event on March 31...but the racing surface is now ready for
action, we just have to wait for the calendar to turn.
The dirt work was finished on February 7th by track maintenance worker Jerry Smith, Sam Hafertepe and Wayne Brown.

2012 LONESTAR SPEEDWAY SCHEDULE (as of 1/31/12):
There are three points divisions for 2012 that will compete in all
race nights: Modifieds, Limited Modifieds and Factory Stocks. Modifieds
pay $1,000 to win* at each point’s event. “GA” means adult General
Admission ticket prices. Kids generally $5. Reserved Section available,
generally $5 add-on per ticket. Senior & Military pricing generally
available.
MAR 10 – PRACTICE DAY, Any and all cars are welcome (2pm-6pm, $15/person pit passes)
MAR 24 – PRACTICE DAY, Any and all cars are welcome (2pm-6pm, $15/person pit passes)
MAR 31 – $10,000 to win LUCAS OIL LATE MODEL SERIES. Plus Opening Points

OCT 11-13 – 2nd Annual $120,000 LONESTAR SPRINT NATIONALS featuring
$13,000 to win and $1,200 to start SPRINT CARS, and $2,200 to win and
$400 to start RaceSaver SPRINTS (7PM, $15/$15/$20 GA)
NOV 24 – LONESTAR TURKEY NATIONALS FEATURING SUPR LATE MODEL SERIES,
MODIFIEDS, LIMITED MODIFIEDS, FACTORY STOCKS (2PM START TIME, $15 GA)
*ALL Modified division points races in 2012 will pay $1000/win and
$80/start with a $50 entry fee per car per night. Driver must race in
70% of the points events to receive point fund money for each points
division of racing. (No points 11/24.)
