Hey Sean, you need to come out next weekend. We're having a great time out there, and the racing is good too! wink.... The weather is great, and there's a lot of people in their R.V.'s, and some just camping out as well. Three more nights of racing starting Wednesday , and then Friday and Saturday...

Round Four – Wednesday, February 1 @ 7:00 p.m. ($2,000 to win)

Round Five – Friday, February 3 @ 7:00 p.m. ($2,000 to win)

Round Six – Saturday, February 4 @ 1:00 p.m. ($5,000 to win)

Sounds like a huge success, good car count and big names. How about the grandstands? Are enough fans attending to make it an annual event?

If you average it out the fan count has been OK but not great, but there's no doubt that both the car and the fan count will be up this coming weekend. Now what the midweek show tomorrow will bring is probably a big question mark in everyone's head. I'll be coming down from Prescott again, and most of my hard core friends will be there too, and again, the weather is great!

One good sign is I've talked to people who were out at that track for the first time, or hadn't been to a race in years.

Was down there this weekend and the racing was pretty damn good. The 13.5 hour trip sucked. Plenty of cars and names. Plenty of good racing in the main event. You will have to sit through dust storms in the stands from the cars. It's unavoidable. Multiple classes make the track slicking off and laying rubber inevitable. All in all, I'd absolutely go back. IT'S SPRINT CAR RACING IN JANUARY!!!

Yes the first show was dusty, but at least it wasn't going back at the stands, but toward turn one. The Saturday daytime show to our surprise was much better, without very much dust at all, not nearly as much rubber down, and a fast up top groove. The Sunday show was somewhere in between, but during his interview, and with a smile, Tracy Hines said he'd help Kevin get it right. Truth is they've been working their butts off literally around the clock to give us a good racing surface, but you have to remember, they did a lot of work reconfiguring the track right up to the start of this series.

Are you still here, or did you head back up?

I came back after the races on Sunday with Ensign. We had great starting spots and couldn't get the car to the ground in the A to save our soul. The car got fast too late in the A. So much for small victories...lost two tires on the trailer on the way home to boot! That said, in no way was I ripping on the place. I loved it down there and would absolutely love to go back there. Sprint car racing with big names in January? Sign me up. If Kevin needs an announcer/infield interviewer, he can always give me a call. I'm free until late March! Ron
