KEVIN, Thanks for your great column detailing the 2012 Chili Bowl, your comings and goings during the Holiday Season, your pre Chili Bowl activities and travel & dining conquests from Cali to Tulsa. Now that you've released your report they can remove the dirt from and lock up the Expo Center !!! Larry

P.S. I'm an old married guy with kids, grandkids, deep roots and a non-race-fan wife that demands equal parts non racing for every buck spent chasing races. I romanticize your nomad race chasing lifestyle as much as the racing you write about. My mouth waters over every food and beer sampling stop along the way. I want to be a racing gypsy in my next life. wink

Eck, what are the odds of you making an appearance this year at the W of O show up here in Brantford, ON? I would dig up some sponsorship $$$ from the MSPN Photo account and show you a pretty good time and the races there have been better than average over the years. Start workin' on a game plan and let me know. The Chili Bowl recap was special but I still get a kick out of the travels more than anything else, rekindles a memory or two of a wandering sprint car guy I used to know....

I too enjoy hearing of the behind the scenes antics and the backroad 2 lane travels. Kevin needs to roll tape on one of his trips and pitch it to a cable network ie American Pickers. lol

I would love to visit "Styres Speedway" in Ohsweken but the idea of crossing international lines makes me nervous. I barely know the rules in my own country. Every year, I pencil in a trip to Canada. Every year, I erase it. Maybe this year. The travelogue parts of my columns border on self-indulgence but are fun to write and hopefully, fun to read to enough people.

Doubles for me, Kevin. I'm in Toronto and can show you a great time, for all the great times you showed me and others on this board, through your writings.

We met many years ago, in Haubstadt, In. after an outlaw race, in the hotel parking lot. You, I, Steve Beitler and Mark Kinser( the old payless rockery car), and some now famous motorcycle racer, indulging in some great Canadian brew.

MSPN-you'll remember me for the guy that ferried your "Arizona" pic to TJ Slideways.

Yes mac, I remember meeting you at the Flying J on the edge of town for that transfer a while back. Eck and the big city of TO might not be the greatest mix, too dangerous methinks, lol. The almost 400,000 we have here in London might be more to his liking but I've been wrong before. There's no doubt Glen with his connections would show him a time that he likely couldn't even write about but that's just speculation (wink, wink) on my part. Bottom line, Canada needs the Sleaze, we'll be better for it.....

Hey MSPN-nice hearing from You again.

That was my intention-we need an excellent scribe, like himself, up here, in the Great North.

Once he had a taste of Canadian hospitality, he would more than likely shun his allegiance to the flag....lol...

Kevin, if your reading this, look up philnaro.com

Cheers

Obviously it would cover only a certain time frame but, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Somehow, some way, all of Kevin's written observations, from day one until he eventually decides to stop putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), must be gathered together into volumes that can be purchased or at least be made available for research. As such they would represent one of the most important, comprehensive and well written histories of any sport, motor or otherwise.
