I found this article on Pilot Raceway News, see link below
http://www.pilotracewaynews.com/News-111711-Jackson-Speedway-for-sale.htm
The Fair Board/County Commissioners are worried about the "Fair"... They're worried about a lack of room for expansion!?! Seriously... expansion of the Jackson County Fair?
Last time I checked, 4H clubs were dying along with the antique farm equipment. Forgive me for being so harsh. I love the antique farm equipment and I have a genuine respect for the guys who have restored and shared their passion, but the truth is neither portion of the fair is growing.
Choosing the potential death of the speedway over the possibility of expansion is ridiculous. If the fair-board wants expansion, sell the track, so Todd can help encourage attendance!
The potential for improvement easily outweighs the risk. It's time to stop the nonsense and cater to those who are willing to invest.

I am wondering with the purchase of the track by any individual would not the County gain some revenue in the form of real estate tax or does the "fair board" pay real estate tax on the property now?

DJW,
The article mentioned that the property would generate some tax revenue if it was sold to an individual. Jon listed the additional income as a "benifit."

The county is a government entity so there fore they pay NO taxes on any county property! If the track was sold it would generate TAX REVANUE! Quote; "They're worried about a lack of room for expansion!?! Seriously... expansion of the Jackson County Fair?" I would have to agree with this statement, as the days of the family farm are dwindling so is all the 4-H activities the Kids have done in the past.
