One of the FOAW's set fast time in Floridahhhhhhhh

And B4 Mulligan starts his bullshit... this is not a Posse v's the world... The F in FOAW stands for Future..and surely fast time is a good start.

I am really wondering if this has ever been done b4..let alone by two different drivers.

It took Steve Stambaugh a couple of years to win a 410 engined race after he fast timed against the WoO...

Is that kinda close?

Oh wait, wait, wait, California's Bobby Buhler. He had fast time against the WoO once and did he like vanish or something? He was not noticeable before or very long after that.

Staying in California, how about Gary Hylton? His fast timed against the WoO at the 31st Gold Cup Preliminary, but then again, did he run anything else but the Gold Cup? Maybe a NARC show here or there?

Making the A-Main would be slightly more important but what do I know.

Something that might be interesting is some examples of FOAW's. Joey Saldana first beat the Outlaws at I-96 in MI before he joined the tour and that name could certainly be applied in his case, reality not fantasy. Take It Easy....

At Knoxville, John VanDenBerg and Jimmy Evans come to mind immediately. They both set quick time against the WoO. Several regulars have set quick time against the WoO that haven't beat the WoO (Chris Walraven, Randy Smith for example), but have other 410 wins. Are they or were they FOAW at the time? I would say Kerry Madsen, Danny Lasoski, Terry McCarl and Craig Dollansky were. Both Chessons, and even our own Van May have set the fast time against the WoO at K-ville. If you look at the WoO stats over the years, I'm guessing you'll see several such cases from around the country...

Those examples of Bill's are all racers that have gone out on the road and beat the Outlaws, not just quick time at their local track, pretty much looked like FOAW's at the time and followed it up. Now tell us some local boys that have actually lived up to such from your area Cobra, lol? Take It Easy....

Jim Moulis quick timed'em. Texas Tommy Johnson did it twice in 1 year. And it was a couple of years after that for them boys to win their 1st 410 Feature.

More to come...

BRR, quit being an ass when someone answers your question by spinning it elsewhere. Saldana back then wasn't as highly touted as Wolfe is today. Fact remains qualifying is only that. When the chips were actually on the table, your FOAW was still..... foAWOL.

coach - you simply cannot control your anger...like a bobby knight...pissed and stewing over a good game.

incidentally, Mike Carber (FOAW in HS at the time) was leading the WoO race - night before the Grove Open last year- when Solwold ran over him on the restart and then apologized in victory lane.

the question was asked by Cobra who is very familiar with many of these micro racers turned FOAW.

btw: when the mighty WoO was here in May, the Allstars had no race on the calendar...and were AWOL while our FOAW were present and racing.

it is funny how your message board demeanor has turned to total bitterness in the last year...is life really that bad in Ohio that you have to continually lash out at the FOAW for accomplishing something (QT) that veteran drivers would all be honored to achieve?

you could always be a good sport and name a few promising FOAW from your area and put a positive foot forward for the young drivers.

imagine how bad you will look next week if your boys struggle against our young drivers after all this smack you have laid down in the last couple of threads...no matter what the scales say?

Bob, Saldana's first WoO win in came in July 1995 at Lake Odessa, Mich., in Art Wendt's No 77W. That was the same year Joey won 17 races with the All-Stars. You are revising history if you claim Saldana wasn't highly touted back in his days driving for Art Wendt. The guy wins 17 All-Star races in a season and wasn't highly-touteed? LMAO.

In 1995, Joey Saldana was the most highly touted Sprint Car driver in America. Lucas Wolfe has not had anywhere near the hype Saldana did when he was crushing the All-Stars every night.

The sprint crowd has always had high expectations for Joey, or at least they did where I come from...

hahaha.....didn't take long for the chest thumping we all expexct to hear next week to start happening, even a week ahead of schedule. Of course you need something to hang your hat on, been a rough season for your posse. We all are familiar of the struggles endured by our guys on your home turf. Been a little different though away from your hallowed grounds.

By the way, what am I angry about? Life is great and other than watching your tap dances on here, I can't think of anything that even remotely gets under my skin.

Singlefile, all I have ever seen on here from your posse compadre is FOAW this and FOAW that, Wolfe was one who was good enough to run with a NATIONAL touring group, so despite Saldana's success with the "nostars" as they were referred to by your same posse buddies, how could that possibly equal a FOAW on the NATIONAL stage??? I am only using that which I have learned from the all knowing in your parts. Apparently you couldn't sense the tongue in cheek as I had intended. The bottom line was that despite their reaching for straws and grabbing for whatever success they could find, (it's come down to success in qualifying now...LMFAO!!!) the boys were still AWOL from actual on track success when it actually paid something.

It would appear to me from all the spinning and grasping that a couple of you guys are the angry ones. I can only sit back and laugh as you clowns play right into MSPN's hands. You hate him and yet you keep him alive on here.

OH yea, about the WoO in May, both were off when they raced at Lernerville (the same state as your guys) yet the All Stars outnumbered and had the better finish in that race than did your posse. Let's compare apples to apples.

Just to clarify, Bob. I have never referred to the All-Stars as the "No-Stars" on here, said anything about the All-Stars' record lifetime at the central PA tracks or written about FOAW. Guess I misunderstood if your post was intended as tongue in cheek. On the surface, I just thought it was kinda misleading.

The All-Stars beat the few Posse that dared to stray to Lernerville a few nights ago also, nothing surprising though. Lucas deserves some high marks for chasing the Outlaws this year and he looks like he just might be the top dog in your area these days, certainly the closest thing to a FOAW that has existed in many years.

Lucas's quote at New Egypt:

"I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to race with a lot of good guys out here that most people never get. I am definitely glad to be able to travel around when the Outlaws come to town. It makes you all that much better. Racing with the best at different race tracks is the only way you will ever become the best."

Bob, being compared to Bobby Knight is an honor. Nobody has coached more players into life successes than this man and he's managed to win a few games along the way without nearly the talent of his fellow coaches. BRR and the rest will keep the debate alive because they are cheerleaders and while they are on the losing side they are blind to it, I feel for them, lol. Take It Easy....
