Dwane,
Is this Jack Hinkle's Lola? I remember seeing him win the open division at Lake Afton when
I was a kid in a red Lola sports car.

I built a model of this car in 1965-66 and am pretty sure it is an early McClaren (sic) the Lola T70 was quite a bit different. In 1967 Mcclaren came out with a new car I think it was called the Mark 6 and dominated the Can/Am series. If I ever get my scanner to work I will post pictures of these cars

Ray,
maybe it wasn't a Lola after all. I remember it was red, and he whipped everybodies butt. I also
remember my dad telling me during the race how Hinkle had been a top Indy car owner in the
1950's, until his driver Jack McGrath was killed at the Arizona State Fair in a dirt car race. They
called the race team the three Jack's, for mechanic Jack Beckley, driver McGrath, and owner, Hinkle.
I also remember him taking a victory lap after his win, he took off his helmet off and he had silver hair,
I thought that guys really old, but he sure is fast. I think that may be him in the background talking
by the car

Sometimes you need to reinstall your scanner. Just run the cd that came with it to reinstall it. It is a step by step process. Just follow the instructions. I don't know what it is doing, but a lot of times reinstalling works.

The #22 in the photo was a McLaren Mk1. Joe Starkey drove it at Lake Afton in 1966.

Any info and photos on Jack Hinkle's sports car racing? I believe it was around 1968 we

Yes. There is quite a bit on line. Here is one of the better sites for information and photos of Jack Hinkle: http://forums.autosport.com/index.php?showtopic=83846&hl=Hinkle
