I am in process of fixing up a vintage sprint and for simplicity, I want to run a carb and gasoline. The trouble I'm having is a stock chevy pump won't clear my front motorplate and its mounting tabs allowing it to bolt on the block. If the bowl was lower, it would clear. Is there a pump out on the market for this application? Perhaps there is someone in a sprint series that runs a carb and has experienced a similar situation? thanks

When I ran a mechanical pump, I made a motor plate that came down and cleared the pump. Then i just had to weld a tab lower on th chassis to fit. If you send me my old 100" car back, I will make you one. lol. Hope that helps

Check out racepumps.com. We have been using their mechanical pump on our E-sprint for the past 2 seasons and no problems with it on methanol.
