CONCORD, N.C. – On Tuesday, a special season-ending "best of" edition of "Winged Nation" will be presented on www.MotorRacingNetwork.com . The show will start at normal time – 12:30 Eastern – but will be a two-hour edition of interviews from the 2011 season.
The show starts with a pair of amazing comebacks featuring Joey Saldana and Travis Rilat. Jason Sides discusses his much-talked-about Las Vegas "run-in" with Sammy Swindell and Daryn Pittman shares his views of racing in Pennsylvania after winning the May World of Outlaws race at Williams Grove.
Show co-hosts Kendra Jacobs and Steve Post took a mid-season trip down memory lane with visits with Keith Kauffman, Doug Wolfgang and Kenny Jacobs. Also no sprint car season would be complete without coverage of the Knoxville Nationals; the show replays interviews with Ralph Capitani, Shane Stewart and Donny Schatz.
One of the great stories this season was some new young talent in sprint car racing, "Winged Nation" caught up with California's Kyle Larson and Ohio's Bryan Sabetto in September. Also, more Pennsylvania talk with Stevie Smith is part of the "best of" show.
Finally, another trip to the past is relived with a visit with famous step-father John Bickford in November and his more-famous step-son Jeff Gordon from May.
"Winged Nation" covers winged sprint car racing across America each week streamed live at 12:30 Eastern on Tuesdays and then available on www.MotorRacingNetwork.com throughout the week. Jacobs is the daughter of sprint car legend Kenny Jacobs and a former Miss Knoxville Nationals. Post is a broadcaster with MRN Radio and passionate dirt track racing fan.
