The white car next to the 41 is Bill Wilson #88 from Salina.

I knew that was a Salina area car but the memory banks would not bring it up, LOL. the 41 and 31 were they not team type cars. with Roger and Leon. Were they Schippert cars?

It wasn't as ugly has the cars Jr. Angel brought to the nationals after Gene was killed. Yellow and orange wheels #76 sedans.
The story was Harold Angel went all out that year. It had a Ernie McCoy engine in it.

I would have to agree with you. The orange and yellow cars looked like they belonged at McDonalds. LOL
Plain, I guess would be a better word to describe the 1966 car, and also the many gold #36 cars
that Henry drove over the years at Mohawk and Salthawk. Henry really knew how to stretch a dollar,
his cars always ran well on a low budget. You can tell through these great pictures how much 1966
was a transitional year for the modified class. After Frank's win 1968 at Hutch, we would no longer
see one of the big heavy mods in victory lane at the nationals.

The following year a poster by the name of sparkplug (77) ran in the 1967 Hutchinson Nationals.
I wonder how many may be lurky (reading) out there were in 66 or 67 race. I'm guessing 15 are viewing this site.

Was that your car or was it from Concordia? I bet there out there somewhere if you don't have any.
I've been looking for a car from the early 60's late 50's Yellow and black #X-15. It was my father's car from Salina. I wasn't raised by him but it would something I vaguely remember about his racing days.
