I notice that you bring up car counts often on the board. To answer your question there are less 410 racers in CA than 360s and it is expensive to run GSC because they race every weekend from early March to the end of July. I think everyone wants to see more cars at a GSC race, but I can garantee you that even though the car counts might be low there are some very talented racers that can race with the Outlaws if they had the opportunity. I go to almost every GSC race and there have been some great races this year and it doesn't matter to me if there are 20 or 40 cars. Regarding Petaluma- I am really hoping we get some local 360 drivers and I know that Mike Henry has been dominant at Petaluma. The race 2 weeks ago was really good and I think this weekend will be good also.
Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Car counts are a legitimate concern these days. Look at the last 6 GCS races:
Tulare: 24
Petaluma: 23
Calistoga: 21
Calistoga: 21 (only 15 started the Main)
Ocean: 21
Placerville: 20
Those are small fields. GSC may get 23 again at Petaluma on Saturday. But what about next Monday in Medford?
Anyone remember the last NARC race in Bakersfield?

Time flies. Statlers first NARC win did come at Petaluma. Way back during NARC Speedweek in 1996!
Seeing some locals would be nice but I'll take a great race ( like Placerville) over a good car count any day. And since CarWash will be in Pleasanton doing a walk for autism, odds are you will see a great race cuz the best races seem to happen when I'm not there.

Yeah I finnally got logged in!!!!
Was that they race that Soares did not want to pay because of the low car count? I only went to a couple of NARC races that year and petaluma was one of them.
25 Cars Saturday. It will be cold and miserable weather because I am going to be there. Seems to be how my luck is these days.

Here is the thing... 360's aren't going to compete with the 410's at petaluma, the place is WAY too hooked up. I'm sure some of the local teams will show up, but to me, if you have enough of the 410 cars to fill the field, why would you want the 360's out there taking up room 2 seconds(at least) off of the pace? Sure it looks better on paper and to the promoters to see a huge car count, But ALOT OF CARS DOES NOT MAKE FOR A GOOD RACE!!

Especially when your talking about Petaluma. I thought the doors were all but shut a couple of years ago.

Hopefully a while! I know they moved the curfew up to 10 to keep the noise complaints down. Sprint Car counts on the weekly shows are way up. It's really a nice track, always tacky and fast, and we're almost out of dirt tracks here in the bay area.

Jum Vare Lare holds the qualifiying record in a 360 at Petaluma. No 410 has gone faster. Somewhere in the mid 12 second braket. 360's obviously run alot more than 410's at Petaluma, so have a much greater chance of a "hooked up" track and setting the record. 360's probably run at most a full second behind the 410's in race conditions. Yes, I would take a 410 over a 360 any day in a 410 race. I would want the added horsepower especially on restarts and in the straights. A 360 to win a 410 race at Petaluma would be huge acheivement. Not sure if it has ever been done.

I hope a few of the 360s show as well as a number of 410s that would not normally come out. Most of the cars that are going to Medford on Monday should be there I would think.
Wow, Dirt Cup is next week!!!
