Have heard from a couple of sources that Jacksonville, IL is not going to run in 2012? Any of MOWA guys heard anything from the area? Thought with Jacksonville sticking with the 410's weekly it was going to be something to build upon but hear the promoter just didn't make enough off it to put in the effort to keep it going. Any other scoop out there?

THAT sure didn't last long, did it?
So much for the group that was going to build sprint car racing in Illinois. Couldn't even last as long as the MASS.

If it is true about Jacksonville it doesnt mean the series is done, they raced at quite a few different tracks. The MASS series was a joke. Sounds to me like you were a MASS series fan?????????

Jacksonville Speedway is currently looking for a new promoter for 2012. This has nothing to do with the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) that was formed last year. MOWA has a 2012 schedule coming together nicely that will include spots for a few races at Jacksonville if the track should be open.
If a promoter does not step forward for Jacksonville, Shepps Speedway about 15 miles away has indicated intentions to run unsanctioned 410 sprints on Friday nights that do not conflict with the MOWA schedule.

Good news, glad you cleared that up! As you see Captain Sadness seemed quite happy about this in their post above thinking you guys were done. The MOWA series did a great job in 2011 and it will only get better in 2012!

This is a real shame, if true. Sure looked like a damn nice crowd at the last POWRi/Wang Sprint show......

The final night had a good sized crowd, and plenty of cars in all divisions too.
It was the first time I have been there in a few years though.

Someone is pretty ill informed. MOWA and Jacksonville are separate groups and organizations. Would be nice if someone new opened Jville but that doesn't mean MOWA won't go on. Haven't read that anywhere.
