While sitting in tire store getting custom wheels removed and factory truck wheels installed, read an old Dec 2010 magazine article about Roth, a magazine I stuck in my pocket. 1. He didn't take any support money, some very large $$ offers, from sponsors because he didn't want his transporter plastered with their paint and having to change it every few years. 2. HR on his car is his dad's tribute, Henry Roth.3. DTR Transport, obviously him and Teresa's names and their company that hauls beef around the country. 4. Doesn't believe costs have gotten out of hand, believes in supply and demand and not in everyone having to buy same motor, which limits manufacturers and free enterprise severely. 5. Very much against 360's taking over sprint car racing as the costs are nearly the same and feels fans wouldn't accept. 6. Keeps the 83JR car mostly in California because he is an important part of sprint car racing in California and feels the fans expect his car to be there, also runs it without the wing out of the same shop as the winged 83JR. 7. "I'm far from the easiest guy to drive for and the driver has to understand that, if we finish 18th, I'm not going to say 'good job', I'm probably going to chew some asses". 8. About his move to NST and off the WoO bandwagon: "I had a tremendous amount of respect for Fred Brownfield". 9. About the WoO: "they have an excellent point fund and purse, they pay you show up money and they go to a lot of places that give drivers and teams a lot of exposure and I've run with them for many years, they've lived up to everything they said they were going to do. 10. Tim Kaeding back for 2nd tour with him: "he is one of the best drivers out there and he is fun to watch".
