Mike sent this in from Lawton, OK.

Today when I take the Wife to a race car deal and say "look at the body on that!"- I mean the race car, not the hottie close to it. Getting old I guess..................

I see a few bodies I'd like to have, wish they were still making them. WE ARE A HOBBY IN NEED!

Anybody got any body parts like the last car picture here.

I'm wanting a tail and top, and a hood would do good as well.

#11 Pete Rasnic man that was a long time ago. My friend that got me started to going to the races, Pete was his

favorite.driver.

James Eubanks brother that drove rookie cars in the mid 60s was named Calvin. I didn't think anybody would remember him

Ray C I read what you wrote about Mike, it was great. Mike always wanted to go faster, one night at Tulsa he won the feature by almost half a lap. He came in and said it we had changed something the car would have been faster.

I am doing great after my back surgery I stopped using the walker and just using a cane now. I want to thank all of you for your nice notes and your prayers.

Ray

Ray,

I'm glad you enjoyed the story I did on Mike Peters. I'm also so glad to read how you are

improving so quickly after surgery.

Trammel my neighbor is Marvin West who owned Broken Arrow fiberglass and I asked him several years back "where did the molds end up?" to which he didn't know but when he sold the business, the new owners kept them but only did boat stuff. He is a real craftsman and had some hot cars on the track from 1960s through the 70s. Rasnic was a raw talent in my opinion, but seemed to be tough on equipment. last car I remember Marvin ran was #90 and Johnny Boe drove.

I hear he can still build an Okie Sprinter body, for a narrow style chassis like Benny Taylors #13.

I have never been a fan of the Okie body designe. I like the styles the Jack Belk 31 Ford, Evert Humphrey,Al Lemmons, and Melvin Rogers sectional body styles. We need to dig a little deeper and mabey someone can come up with some molds.

Trammel --------Gill Johnson in Neosho Mo has a mold that was made of the Chick Shaddox green #17 car from 1969,,it is the same as the 711 car in the picture in the cataloge in the previous post in this thread...They can also do the Belk car from 1970 Nance type body..{They also have the Original Molds from Don Edmonds},,we have talked to Don Edmonds and he confirmed that they are the Original molds. They have the mark of his own custom fit that Don himself put on them to make his work fit better for him,,they are the molds Don himself used.....They have made several different ones already..He was shiping one of the Edmonds bodys today when i was talking to him......

There dad David has been very sick and in the Hospital over the last 6 months. In St Louis and Springfield ,,they have not had alot of time traveling with there dad for medical treatment and Hospital stays..They got him home now,,its been a tuff long recovery. Now that there dad is getting better Gill has more time coming up..Gill also just got married and is getting settled in from that..

.The bodys they make fit really well...They know these cars..There grandfather was the owner of the car my dad drove ,#88 Jack Belk drove in the 1970 and 71 year in Tulsa..It was the Nance house car #11 in 1969..They are very close friends with me and also Chick Shaddox..Chick lives in the same area they do ,,,just south of Joplin.I have delievered some of the bodys they have built and the buyers were very happy with the fit..If anybody needs a body or if i did,,, i would go to them first ,,i have seen there work and seen the bodys put on cars. Gill built one Edmonds body i delivered and it went on like a glove with very little work needed,,all mounting holes matched up/...

If anybody wants to talk with them let me know...They dont like people going by there place without an apointment..It is out in the woods..I told Gill about this post and he may be coming on here in the next day or to and responed when he can gets to a computer........

If you email me here i will email you back with a good phone number,,,,Tim Belk
