Thanks for the walk down memory lane. The 21x, steered by Ronnie Shuman was and still is my all-time favorite sprinter. When that team unloaded at Ascot, it was guaranteed to be a barn burner!

I guess winning promoter of the year at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame was kinda a fluke.. That's the great thing about public message boards, every dummy with a computer can't voice there opinion. Thanks for being a fan, come on down to the pits next race and ill hook you up with a free t-shirt.. have a good one... lil shu... proud son of the original shu : )

I'm sure knowing you respect him as a driver would just make Ron Shuman's day (if he ever read this board). Likewise, I think he'd be heart-broken to hear he sucked as a promoter. You should have taken this up with the Hall of Fame committee before they voted him in, YOU MORON! (ah, that feels better)

Casey, it is amazing what people will say when they hide behind one of these stupid screens. It was great meeting you at the National's (I was with the Moose Crew). I hope to see you soon and good luck next year.

Dear Ron,

Allow me to express my sincere, personal satisfaction regarding your upcoming Sprint Car Hall of Fame induction. I believe no one is more deserving of this honor. Your conduct, both on and off the racing surface, has always been that of a champion.

In a few days you will join Hinnershitz, Opperman, Bryan and all the other dusty heroes in whose company you so richly deserve to be included. Your racing record alone would demand acceptance into the Hall of Fame. But more importantly, your vision, perseverance and dedication to the sport is the primary reason we are privileged to enjoy SCRA nonwing sprint car racing in Southern California. Traditional sprint car racing on the west coast could have died with Ascot Park. But you didn’t let it happen.

From all of us who share the love of this sport, thank you for the great racing memories, and for those yet to come.

Congratulations.

Sincerely,
Gil Mahoney

The Offixco 21x WoO sprintcar was one of my favorites. I was glad to be able to meet Ron at the Hall of Fame classic a couple of weeks ago and have him autograph a couple of pictures of that car for my boys. Nice guy and a helluva driver.
