Brian Carter, Chief Executive Officer of the World Racing Group, will join us for the full hour tomorrow (Tuesday at 12:30 Eastern) on "Winged Nation".

What are your questions for him?

We will talk about 2011, 2012, television, driver contracts and a whole lot more!

Great hour to get the pulse of the sport from the sanctioning body side!

If you have questions, you can post them here; or email them to [email protected]

plain and simple

1. why was Jason not provided a direct answer to his inquiry about running a non-sanctioned race?

2. who gives a F where someone wants to park their hauler.

oh wait, thats a statement. let me re-phrase.

2. why was Jason not allowed to park in a normal fashion?

3. why was Jason Sides, his crew, and sponsors, not afforded an opportunity to celebrate the 2012 racing season with the rest of the sheep....err, teams?

4. Would Fred Brownfield have treated his racers this way? (this one is my favorite if I can only have one question)

1. Are all drivers that travel with the WOO under the same contract with no stipulations? 2. How is the WRG working to expand the sprint car audience? I think the WRG should work with brands and sponsors to attract a younger crowd to the sport of sprint cars. Looking at drifting, motocross, four wheel racing, off road racing, all target the younger demographic very well, and possibly making fans for life. 3. How can WRG improve on working with the promoters and race tracks to get the new fans and existing fans in the seats?

#1--When will the 2012 schedule be released ?

#2--What does he consider the smallest number of full time cars they can have and still feel they have

a viable, national traveling series ?

#3--Will they be adding any new cost contaiment, cost saving rules for 2012 ?

#4-- Does he wish they had a different name for the series, i.e.--does having "Outlaw" in their name hinder their ability to sell major sponsorships??

If i could ask one questions it would be

1. Has the world of outlaws ever considered selling the sprint car side to someone who has a sense of responsible to driver, team rather then to self. They are fulltime drivers let them race! If one team can race on a off nite then everyone should be able to.

I have only 3 questions for Mr Carter.

1- Do you have a Cell Phone?

2- If so,have you ever read the instruction manual on how to ANSWER an incoming call?

3- How did you spend your $25,000 bonus you got a few weeks ago?

Are you intentionally ruining the Outlaws because deep down you are a NASCAR loyalist hellbent on destroying a more exciting form of racing? Is NASCAR paying you to sink the Outlaws?

Don't you think a business model that rewards drivers for following your tour would be better than one that alienates them?

Do you realize you are punishing the fans every time you lose a driver from your tour?

Can you please, for the love of God, reconsider WRG's policy on not letting your employees race when you failed to give them a race that night?

Can DIRTVISION get more PPV races available? (Don't you want this revenue stream?)

POSTMAN, I understand you will need to be more professional towards Mr. Carter than my angry post is, but please don't let him off the hook easy. Ask the tough questions. Ask tough follow-up questions. Make sure he knows that WRG is letting the fans and drivers down. You don't have to take a side but don't tip-toe around the issue either. This is one of those times when you can gain or lose respect with dirt racing fans. Be bold.

I got a few for the books ask him why is SLS Promotions is so far up his A__ that they dictate who the WRG penalizes like Jason Sides.. U might want to ask it in a differnet way but you get my point.. Or Ask why Cody Darrahs rookie of the year was taken from him because he missed a race but yet still gets his point fund money? Doesnt make sense.. If you take rookie of the year from him you are saying he is not a plantuim memeber so should not recieve his point fund monies? Is that all you have him for is an hour because I need at least a few hours for all my questions.. Why does he state the WRG is losing money but yet fills his pocket with well over 6 figures a year salary (i can get exact number) with some pocket money from Goodyear and SLS.. Im just saying maybe some questions to ask wait till the end so when he hangs up its at least the end of the showSmile

I wouldnt mind that question answered as well.

If you say Cody Darrah does not recieve rookie of the year because he missed that race in Antioch, how come he still gets paid his point fund money when the contract states

"YOU MUST COMPETE IN 100% OF THE RACES TO RECIEVE POINT FUND MONEY"

Thats a bit hypocritical isnt it???

All of these questions can be avoided by Mr. Carter if the first thing he says is:

'I and the World Racing Group have made a mistake. I am here on Winged Nation to publicly announce that Jason Sides is entitled to and will receive his points fund monies and status in both the driver and owner standings. We sincerely apologize for our wrongdoing and we hope that Mr. Sides will continue to support and compete in the World of Outlaws for years to come, along with any other team that is interested in competing at what we believe is the highest level of this sport. Furthermore, I would like to apologize to the loyal fans of the sport as well, because without their support and dedication, I would not be sitting here today.

The WRG will use this season's turmoil as a lesson. We will work hard in the off season to come up with a more concise contract that the owners, drivers, sponsors, and series can all agree on and collectively adhere to.'

Respectable, honest, and straightforward. No lawyers, no courtrooms, no more ugly mess.

He would gain a lot more by losing a little bit of temporary pride.

Hell, I'd bet you that if he said something like this, within the next 3 years the World of Outlaws/WRG would have more teams, sponsors, and ticket sales for being one of the few honest and loyal companies left in this world.

I triple dog dare you, Mr. Carter.

It would be informative to understand the current financial status of the WRG, like:

1. Is WRG still a publicly held corporation?

2. If so, where is the latest financial SEC Form 10-K posted? (Yahoo can only come up with the year ending 12/31/2008 as the "latest" ) .

3. Why was the stock symbol changed from WRGR to WRGR.D on 5/12/11 and then one month later changed back from WRGR.D to WRGR (6/23/11)?

4. Is WRGP, in fact, bankrupt, just undeclared?

Cody only recieved the rookie of the year because the 6r refused it and told them that it was Cody's to have they took his points money and gave KKR the owners money.

Ya know, I have to be honest here folks. I asked for your questions knowing that some would want insight into the Jason Sides matter....I can tell you it won't happen. Sides has threatened with a lawsuit, and whenever lawsuits are involved there isn't going to be much talking before the court case.

Sides was on our show last week and basically restated what his press release said. Brian Carter agreed to come on the program and talk about the contracts drivers sign in general terms to give us a better ides as to why they have them and the parameters of them. Because of the threatened lawsuit; specifics of the Sides case can not be discussed. I think if someone threatened any of us with a lawsuit, the very first thing that any attorney would say would be not to go on a national radio program and talk about it.

I am amazed at the lack of human decency and respect that many of you show on this forum and in questions for me to ask. And, I wonder do you treat people in your personal lives the way you "talk" on here?

This all being said, there have been some really good questions across a wide variety of topics posted on this forum and sent to our e-mail address. We will incorporate them into the discussion.

It's easy to dislike a sanctioning body, today is an opportunity to gain an understanding about the sport we love from their perspective. It's going to be an interesting hour because there are a lot of moving parts and pieces in the world of sprint car racing and we'll do our best to try and get our arms around some of them.

12:30 Eastern on MotorRacingNetwork.com and it will be available for re-listen or downloading later this afternoon. Thanks, in advance, for listening.

HUMAN DECENCY is returning someones phone call and two text messages when they want to go and race. And yes some people are blunt in real life and dont take the pussification high ground like your post is suggesting we do.

I don't aim to please.
I aim to hit the target.

Mr. Postman, that's a near perfect 'post'...no, it is perfect. I agree 100% with your comment regarding the 'decency' factor, and the need for all people in all walks of life to treat each other with respect and common curtesy. There's one aspect of this circumstance, though, that I think we lose sight of occasionally. Sprint car racing is a peculiar little industry. Thirty or forty guys put their lives on the line every night...for our enjoyment !!! We are able to go into the pits after a race and almost touch them, we stand by their cars, shake their hands, have our three year old's picture taken with them...and in virtually every respect, we tend to think of them as being 'just like us'. That's a peculiar circumstance in this country. Where else can fans get so close to their weekend heroes? Maybe no where. And by and large, sprint car fans tend to be hard working, God fearing, honest people with a lot of integrity...by and large. So when something weird or 'bad' happens in our little circle of interest, some of us may tend to take it a little more personally than, say, if Paris Hilton gets arrested, or Kim Kardashian cheats on her boyfriend. Put another way, for many people (i.e. those that listen to your fine program) this sprint car world IS THEIR WORLD TOO ! I think that might explain why they get so emotionally agitated when something likethis Sides siituation comes along. Are they entitled to call each other 'stupid' in the name of emotion? Of course not. Are they entitled to chastise Sides for wanting his 'few lousy bucks'? Of course not. But are they entitled to have strong feeling about 'their little slice of Americana'. They work hard every day. They tend to be incredibly decent people. And especially in an economy like this where pleasures are few and far between, they are entitled to immerse themselves in what their hearts and minds tells them is important. Yep, some of them go over the top...but I'd rather have that than a bunch of disinterested so-called fans that only have passion for their sport when they get liquored up !

So, do I agree with the entirety of your post...YES, SIR. Do I think there's an explanation(s) for the fervor that sprint car fans bring to issues like this? YES, SIR.

Last, I do need to take exception to (or perhaps explain) your comment that whenever there's a lawsuit threatened or pending, lawyers tell their client to not talk about it. 99 times out of 100, the client is told not to discuss the case only when the lawyer fears that the client might say something to hurt the case. If the truth and the law is on your side, there is NEVER any harm that can come from speaking it. Maybe that's why Sides was freely speaking about the facts last week. Maybe Mr. Carter will too, I don't know. He strikes me as a principled guy, and I bet he wants to speak the truth. He should. We all should. And we need to get past this squabble and divert our passion to, say, the Chili Bowl, or Volusia, or taking our young kids to a sprint car race where they can shake hands with Paul McMahan, or Tim Kaeding, or Sammy, or Jason Sides.......

I listen to the show for Kendra's laugh and passion about sprintcars, and hopefully to hear facts about sprintcar racing. If I wanted to listen to made up PR garble (no offense Kendra) to appease lawyers, sponsors, car owners ,etc etc etc, I'd tune into NASCRAP garbage every wee.....ah crap. I forgot. You're the guy who wants starters put on sprintcars.

Oh well. I still love Kendra. Smile

After listening, Mr. Carter seems like somewhat of a likable guy. He obviously has good plans for sprint car racing and seems somewhat passionate about it. I hate that all of this is happening.

I knew he wasn't going to say much about the situation... and he could have said a lot less... but his comments on the situation were interesting, though, somewhat confusing to me.

He made the comment that Jason Sides should have tried harder to contact him, saying [paraphrasing] that one phone call and a couple of texts were not enough effort (??)... then in the same sentence stating he is easy to find anywhere they go and that Jason had multiple opportunities to talk to him.

So why doesn't this go both ways? Why didn't HE return the phone call or the texts... and furthermore, why didn't HE talk to Jason on those multiple opportunities after he had made no effort to reply?

Also, he made sure to say that only one other driver attended the Fargo race besides Schatz... but failed to mention or acknowledge the other TEAM that did. Owner points? That's a large omission.

No mention of the way they have decided to treat Jason over the last 10 days... which is fine, I didn't really expect that.

The biggest judge of character that I heard, in my humble opinion, was his choice to correct himself when saying that he is a fan of Jason Sides... well was a fan of Jason Sides. That's a bit tacky in my book. I understand he may not be your favorite person now, but why does a CEO of a large company have to act childish? He didn't call him names and scream but it was still uncalled for. Take the high road.

Just my 1.5 cents.

Good interview Kendra and Steve. I feel for Jason Sides as he is on a low budget, although I can see BOTH sides to this story. It sounded like this could have been avoided if contact was made, days or even ONE day in advance. If I want to go on a trip with a co worker that is work related I don't wait until the last few hours or day to ask. I understand why Schatz was allowed to race at his dad's track, but was there a 3rd driver there considered a platinum member? If so why were they not penalized ? I think this is the main issue. But just because the 3rd team was there too doesn't make it okay b/c from what I see a contract was broken, possibly twice. Would everyone else be happy if the 3rd team was penalized as well? I'm doubting it. I wish Jason success where ever he ends up racing. I also hope the premier series in sprint car racing continues to grow and thrive. I hope all of our friends down under post some good videos online while I sit and wait for April to arrive.
