I had to get away this weekend to clear my head and deal with the issues that go along w/losing my Mom. At first I was going to go to Hanford until Bob Ream told me that the sprints were running at this new track in Eastern Phoenix. I quickly changed my plans and went over to Phoenix.

I met up with my old roommate and partner in crime Sandra. Saturday we headed out to the track. The cost was $15 to get in which isn't too bad compared to a lot of other tracks. The workers at the track are very nice, helpful and friendly. When we walked up to the grandstand area was I in shock. They had regular bleachers with stairs which makes it so much easier for me where I have bad knees. When I looked at the track, I knew it would be fast. It's not flat like a lot of tracks. It has a great deal of banking. When I watched hot laps, I knew this was going to be a great race. It was a great race. I watched my fave, Bob Ream go from 14th to 6th and if he had a few more laps I'm sure he would have got 5th. The track doesn't have clay, and it did take rubber but it was so fun to watch. It wasn't just follow the leader, there were 2 grooves for most of the race. The food and drinks and beer are very reasonably priced as well. Only downfall was that they have outhouses but from what I overheard, they are working on that. The pit area is very well lit, which I'm sure is a big help to the teams.

I can only hope that the powers that be with USAC/CRA can get a few races at this track. There's no bugs to get bit by and the announcers are very intelligent and know about sprint cars. If I had a choice between a race at Canyon and a race at ET, I would most definitely go to ET.

This is all just my opinion of course and I"m sure there are many others who have many complaints about this track. I'm just sayin for me, as a spectator, this track rocks! I hope to go back there a few times in 2012.

Thanks again to everyone at ET for making my first race at the track such a great one. Thank you to the Bullet Bob Ream for his great directions and for letting me know about the race. It was great to see you and great to meet Brian Hosford.

RIP Chet and Mark. You might be gone but never will
be forgotten.
