"Outback" Murphy started 15th at his home track in the fuscia-colored #21 Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness getup and picked off one car after another. It didn't look like he could possibly catch Bernal, who was flying as usual -- and on his way to matching Peter's record of six USAC WC 360 wins in a single season. But he did. About two car lengths from the wire. The people in the well-populated stands went berserk...... Surprisingly (to me anyway) absent: Danny Sheridan, Justyne Hamblin, the VanderWeerd brothers, Rusty Carlile and Greg Alexander.

Yes, one of the best drives I've seen from Murphy. That was one of the best A mains so far this year, never a dull moment in this one.
