Last night was some great racing. If you have nothing to do tonight, I highly suggest you dress warm and come on out to Elko. The track was fast and smooth. With all the cars in the pits, I thought it was going to be a late night. The different organizations and the Elko staff moved the program right along. It's the last night to get your sprint car, late model, legends, or mods fix for the year.

It's only $15 bucks. Its a bargin for the amount of racing and quality of cars. I'm sure all you have to do is bring your camera and your in for free.

Those arrangements have to be set it up with the tracks and even if I had done that I can't cover the gas and hot dogs this weekend. I'm pretty much dead in the water as far as any racing goes. Not complaining because I can find plenty of other things to do on the weekends, that's just the way it is these days. Running a racing website and writing for papers and magazines is volunteer work and a "thank you I like your site (or photo, or article)" doesn't translate into being able to attend races. I put down some neat guitar tracks last night while sitting in the man cave getting text updates from Elko. Didn't get cold or a sore back from running around with a camera around my neck, no late night drive home wondering if the beater would make it all the way. I enjoyed myself as much if not more than I do going to the races. I can't beat myself up about not being able to go to these races anymore. It's been a big part of my life for the last 15 years but things change.
There's a Street Rod show at the Anoka Fairgrounds tomorrow from 9-3 and it's free so I might go take a few photos there. I'm going to have to revise the gotomn.com website to include Street Rods because there's less travel, negligable risk to life and limb to photograph them and it's all daytime shooting so no late night drives. I heard from several people that there was some good racing at Elko last night so that's great and it would have been fun to see. Enjoy night two, I think maybe we'll have a fire in the back yard and hopefully I can get text updates from Elko again tonight.

I think Troy posted that there were 25 Lates over on his board and GRP's UMSS recap said there were 27 Sprints. Not sure on the Mod count but I heard there were a lot of cars.
