do you honestly think there are any top tier racers out there NOT trying to win the race?
The two go hand in hand. Race for the win, points take care of themselves. Don't discount the fact that over-driving the car and crashing or breaking doesn't always equate to racing for the win.
The greatest knowledge is to know that you know nothing
at all.

I am not going to go the the degree to say they are not racing for the win...but in listening to post-race interviews there are a whole lot of satisfied racers who "had a good points day" with a top five finish.
I am in favor of "p.o.'d" second place finishers....

I am in favor of anyone finding the positives in life while dealing with the disappointments life brings............like getting your ass handed to you by the best while being one of the best.

at all.

I think I made it very clear on the show that I'm all about wins. Racing "for consistency" is not racing at all to me.
We forget the race itself because, too many times, everyone is looking at where that finish put them in points. It's the first thing you hear out of a driver's mouth half the time.
I'm a fan of real "outlaw" racing. Run for the money. Wins are all that matter then. No points to chase.

Racing for points, does not always mean racing for the wins. This summer, we went racing for the wins. We travelled away from our home track a few weekends, just to race with better competition, and it paid off. We ended up winning 10 of 21 events this summer, but missed three point races, so we basically threw a track championsip away. Still ended up third. But I will take those 10 wins any day.
