We all are dirt track fans but I thought you would like to know that the Tulsa drag strip is closing down after 46 years. There was a 25% drop in attendance.

I kind of wonder about the Drag Strip "Thunder Valley" that is south of OKC in Noble, Okla. , heard in the past years it has done pretty well with Fri. night street racing and other promotions but have not heard much about it this year, wonder if the heat and just general competition for the entertainment dollar has hurt it??.
Sad thing is there will probably be more MotorSport facilities close in the future , Watching Motorsports on TV and I notice on Drag Race and Nascar races the stands are getting a lot less fans in the stands , like at Dover for the Nascar race this past Sunday, they had whole sections of seating blocked off from not being able to sell the seats and I am sure they put banners over them and got companies to pay something for the sign in helping make up the short fall of ticket sales, same with NHRA drag racing and both of these organizations are in their "Playoff/Countdown" races which was suppose to generate excitement and all that and none are anywhere near selling out the show and it trickles right on down to the local stuff.
Got to use that ol theory a writer/scribe said back on the east coast to me 4 or 5 yrs. ago , the numbers theory, lower the price and put a butt in the seat and then entice him to buy food, drinks, etc. and get his money that way instead of trying to get it all upfront and then they have no $$ to buy refreshments with as most fans are on a budget these and want to still try and have and do it all and lowering price of admission and getting them in that way ,then they buy more and you still get their $$$ , but they enjoyed it more. Pretty good theory as a butt in the seat you have a chance but with no butt in the seat you have no chance.

I had to go to a pawn shop to get gas money to go to Wichita a couple of days ago. I have bought stuff in a pawn shop in the past.

It's this economy that Obummer was supposed to fix. Instead of throwing $787 Billion down a rat hole and now he's asking for more. Attendance is down everywhere in racing. People just don't have the expendable cash they used to have. Hopefully things will get better after next November when we get rid of Obummer.

I imagine so many maxed credit cards out and got another one and maxed that one out. That can only work for so long. Just the grocery store alone is enough to keep you home from race night.
