Cody Morris, TULSA, OK (9-28-2011) - Following a successful Labor Day reopening of Emmett Hahn's Creek County Speedway and a September 17th rainout, Sapulpa's Creek County Speedway prepares for a lightning fast 2011 season finale this coming Saturday, October 1st.

Continuing a popular approach of exclusively open wheel divisions, the semi banked, 1/4 mile oval will host the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region sprints, as well as regional winged Champ Sprints and the growing Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midgets.

Sitting idle for much of the record breaking heat of the 2011 while track management was transferred back to its' 1985 founder, legendary dirt track promoter Emmett Hahn assumed the reins and immediately returned the track to the racy tradition Tulsa area race fans had grown accustomed to over the majority of Creek County Speedway's 26 year history.

The result was a fantastic Labor Day reopening that featured a trio of Lucas Oil American Small Car Series divisions accompanied by the Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midgets and full field of lightning fast winged champ sprints. Nature nixed a repeat of a race fans delight, but near perfect conditions are forecast for Saturday's Creek County Speedway 2011 finale.

The finale will feature of true convergence of homecomings, as Emmett Hahn's American Sprint Car Series will return to the facility that was a true cornerstone to its' very creation in 1992. The event will mark the first American Sprint Car Series visit to Creek County Speedway since April of 2010. That evening saw 2009 ASCS Sooner Region Champion and Oklahoma City native Joe Wood Jr. take victory honors in an ultimately unsuccessful title defense.

However, Joe Wood Jr. has found his touch in his 2011 season bid for a 2nd ASCS Sooner Region title as he brings a stout 96 point advantage over Glenpool, Oklahoma's reigning 2010 ASCS Sooner Region Champion Matt Covington into Saturday night's Creek County stand with only an October 8th showing at Muskogee's Thunderbird Speedway remaining on the 2011 ASCS Sooner Region slate.

The Creek County event also marks the first ASCS Sooner Region point show since an August 20th outing at Lawton Speedway, in which Brandon Corn scored a victory for the Lone Star state by besting a whopping, season high field of 36 ASCS Sooner Region sprint cars.

If Creek County Speedway's Labor Day reopening is an accurate indication, Tulsa area race fans will have their sprint car dose doubled with a full field of regional Champ Sprints. The Labor Day opener saw Collinsville, Oklahoma native Brian McClelland place Kelly Fode's no. 7F in victory lane over a stout 28 car field. And it was a feel good night for Collinsville's racing representatives, as 16 year old mini sprint graduate Layne Heimbaigh took Hard Charger honors with a dash through the pack to take runner up honors at the stripe aboard his Hesselbein Tire no. 94L entry.

The depth Champ Sprint talent for the Creek County finale will only deepen, with multiple talents of exceptional achievement expected trackside. A Creek County Champ Sprint feature winner early in the 2011 season, Skiatook, Oklahoma's highly accomplished mini sprint veteran Jerrod Wilson will look to place the Tim O'Toole owned no. 15x back in victory lane.

The Creek County Speedway finale will also serve as the scheduled Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midget finale. Six regional tracks held host to Emmett Hahn's newly developed EcoTec Midgets in their sophmore campaign, with Bixby, Oklahoma's Kevin Bayer taking EcoTec Midget honors at Creek County's Labor Day reopening aboard the Eric Fenton owned no. 72k. The win marked Bayer's 2nd of the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS Midget campaign following an I-30 Speedway score at Little Rock, Arkansas in June.

An ASCS2 Outlaw Champion in 2009, Bayer will be joined by several accomplished talents such as reigning Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Champion and Tulsa Shootout Outlaw dominator, as well as hometown favorite, Blake Hahn. Approximately one year before being appointed to the prestigious and demanding Director of Competition for the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour, Glenpool, Oklahoma native Matt Ward marched to victory in the outdoor debut of the Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midgets on May 21st, 2010 at Creek County Speedway. Several quality talents are expected join Bayer, Hahn, and Ward in pursuit of victory at Creek County Speedway's finale.

The Creek County Speedway 2011 season finale featuring the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region Sprints, Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midgets, and regional Champ Sprints will commence this Saturday night, October 1st, at 730pm with gates opening at 5pm.
