Rico Ready For Fall Nationals

PETERSEN MEDIA: After an impressive weekend running against the Civil War Series, Rico Abreu will now test his talents against the best of the best in California as he is set for the Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals at the Silver Dollar Speedway this Friday and Saturday night.

After getting his wisdom teeth out early last week, Abreu rose to the occasion as he excited the fans at both the Ocean Speedway, and during his first start at the Placerville Speedway.

Saturday night the St. Helena youngster was charging his way through the field at Placerville, when a steering failure sent Abreu into a bizarre flip ending his run from 20th to fourth.

“We had an awesome car last weekend, and it’s never fun to crash,” explained Rico. “My guys did an awesome job getting me set up in my first trip to Placerville, and they definitely deserved to have a top finish.”

This week the Abreu Vineyards/Kaeding Performance team were busy getting the upstart rookie’s Maxim back together so he can get back to action this weekend.

“The wreck last weekend did cause a bit of damage, but I have an awesome team and they’ve got everything fixed and ready to race,” said Abreu.

With the scheduled King of the West race scheduled for the same weekend cancelled, this weekends event will be made up of the best that California has to offer and will be an exciting show.
