He owns/promotes a few tracks in Indiana, including THAT, Putnamville, and North Vernon. www.indianaopenwheel.com has plenty of fodder to chew on concerning the subject.
Personally, I want nothing to do with him. A buddy and I drove 7 hrs to Terre Haute for the USAC sprintweek show last year only to find out it was cancelled when the sun was shining, cars were in the pits, and fans were milling around. That splendid trip was highlighted by another rainout at Danville, IL on the way home (they actually tried to race though... got in hotlaps and part of the first heat).

You, me and a few hundred other fans drove to THAT to see the phantom rainout Rustin. I haven't returned for another race at Terre Haute since. I would hate to see N. Vernon get pulled from Sprint Week but USAC is doing the right thing here. Hope the Vigo Co. fairboard gets someone who gives a shit about Indiana sprint car racing soon.

From what I've seen on the IN open wheel board, sounds like USAC should've done this a few yrs ago. I agree with ya on Vigo County... surely more than just a few people of influence out there agree with me (and I'm sure a few others) that when the track is right, there is no better place to watch wingless sprints. I'm going to let things sort out this year, and hopefully make a return trip to the Hulman Classic next May. That would be disappointing for sure if they didn't run at North Vernon, but won't affect my plans this year. I've got the Doty Classic on tap at Lima that night, L'burg on Thurs, Gas City on Fri, Royal on Sat, Kokomo on Sun.
