What a shame!!! We're very proud to claim Petey as one our friends & will miss him dearly. The phone wouldn't quit ringing the other day as the racing community came together in this saddest of times!! Gail & I will be a long time getting over this. The stories will go on forever!! RIP Petey!!!

I am shocked and just can't believe it! So so sorry to hear this sad news. Definitelly too young to go this young. He was such an awesome guy and very smart too. He was such a nice guy and fun to hang out with. Condolences to his family. RIP Petey. If anyone has the family's information in order to send a card or donation in lieu of flowers, would you please post it.

As we all commiserate with one another, we all may well believe that had we had a chance to explain our feelings for this young man before he was so quickly gone......maybe it would have made a difference and he would not have left us.
It seems so obvious that Petey could never have known what an impact he had made on us.To his family,Petey was clearly a treasure and to his friends he was someone that we valued .
He was the kid that we all wanted to have as a brother or a son,a confidant or just a friend .
Dear Jolene,the address of the funeral home is : Rainey Mathis Funeral Home,125 W Stoddard St. Dexter,MO 63841 That is where our card went yesterday and even tho it will arrive too late for today's service,I am confident that the Funeral Home will see that they are delivered.They also have a guest book that you may prefer to sign.
Strangely enough,Petey's death reminds so many of us of the circumstances surrounding Jesse Hockett's passing.Both downstate "Show-Me's" ,both remembered with a big smile and both gone too soon.
