Yes, I have raced at the Jackson Speedway. I have also won feature events in both the Hobby Stock and Sprint Car classes.

I will admit, I haven't raced in the hobby stock class since 2001. I gave up on IMCA after being claimed twice.

I personally hate the claim rule! I think it was a creative idea, but the rule has been abused over the years and has done little to reduce costs. The claim rule is government bureaucracy run-a-muck!

We were allowed to run a front sway bar and we didn't have the crate engine option, but other than that, the core rule package appears to be the same.

There will be plenty of drivers who will tell you to run a deeper gear, but keep in mind, the two barrel carburetor is like a restrictor plate. If your motor peaks too quickly, your car will stop generating speed.

Good luck!

Look up a guy named Dan Ross (from Reading, MN). He was one of the best, if not the best in the Hobby Stock class at Jackson.
