I was there this weekend and watched Winters put a slide job on the 59 car of Tatnell. From the pits it looked a little on the dirty side. Then i seen Winters slide into Tatnell on youtube, Winters was well ahead of him. Winters even slowed a bit It was not a bottom to the top out of control slide job. Tatnell made a bad choice. Regardless of Winters Reputation. You Can Veiw the highlights on youtube yourself. There was talk in the pits about kicking him out for the night. I think the IRA "steve" made a good choice in letting him race. His reputation and aggressive driving style should not be singled out. Scott pulls into the pits with his head up high and means business . I think his middle finger driving style does his talking for him.

Must have watched a different video than I watched... Winters slide job was a bonehead move. He slid up and hit the 59 car on the rear tire.Tatnell had no chance . How could winters be ahead and hit the 59 in the rear tire...Look at the meeks video, it shows the crash very clear...

I like Tatnell but had he backed off like Winters did the lap before, no crash. The exact same thing could have happened there too but Winters chose to avoid it. That is also very clear in the video.

I watched the video and at that time had no idea it was Winters.
I thought the 59 car could have backed off and prevented the crash, but looking again it almost seemed like he did not think Winters was going to slide all the way up, and appeared to me that Tatnell actually accelerated trying to shoot the gap between the Winters car and the wall just as the gap closed.
Easy to judge after the fact, harder to judge when you like or dislike one driver or the other.
Just racin me thinks...

I was sitting on the Backstretch right in front of it and it clearly was a racing deal, they were both racing hard and ran out of rooms,Heck Jody Rosenboom ran over that 10V twice and nobody complained!!!

I'd say you're the bonehead... And obviously a Winters hater. I like watching both Scott and Brooke, but it was just a plain racing deal. Get over it.

Brooke tried to shoot the gap on the outside. He almost had Scott cleared but Winters drifted up and tapped him. I don't think anybody wants to tear up these cars intentionally but sometimes stuff happens. They probably won't be pitting next to each other anytime soon.
I've seen that same thing happen in that spot a lot of times over the years, not only Sprints but Late Models and Modifieds. I think it was the USA Nationals one year half the field got taken out in that exact spot on the first lap.

Thats the way it looked to us.
Hard to see that far, (front stretch to back stretch).
It was over in a second, yes Brooke's car was shredded.
Hopefully he was not hurt to badly, that the main thing.

I'm a much bigger fan of one than the other but the thing they should have both realized is they were both in a transfer spot and faster than everybody else behind them. Was fun watching Brooke run the 360 from last to second in the B and he was making time in the A before he dropped out. Thanks to the Tatnell/Richert family for putting on a great show and for the food/party in the pits after the races!
