Stewart decides he has more important things to do than answer a call from the President for NASCAR people to come to the white house. Well after the the speaker of the house flipped off the president, dissing the president has become fashionable among the whackos that call themselves republicans these days.

Maybe Mr. Stewart does have more important things to do. Running several companies can keep one busy as I'm sure you know.

Geez, I had fun.

Dave I normally agree with you but on this one you need to do a little bit more research before throwing Stewart under the bus. Fox News is great at misleading a nation on all things especially this story as their headline read "nascar stars snub the president" or something to that effect but in reality if you read the story you'd see that wasn't the case at all. Here is a section from their misleading story which actually contradicts their own headline-------------Stewart also had a scheduling conflict, though he declined to go into details. "Trust me, if we could be there, we'd definitely be there," he said. "I've always viewed it as an honor just to get an invitation to go. I've enjoyed every trip every time I've gone there. I've learned more and more about it. And it's pretty cool feeling to be with most powerful man in the world. That's not an invitation we take lightly."
Cheers!

Tony Stewart, President Obama, Stewarts schedule. What is this subject doing on a Sprint Car Forum? Take it to FoxNews, not here. My .02c.

Decades ago I was in the service. It was not my choice, the draft board decided that I wasn't moving forward with studies. The man sitting in the Oval Office at that time was not my choice to be sitting there. But if I had been invited to the White House, my answer would have been "Yes sir". After all, he was my Commander in Chief and probably the most powerful man in the world. It is not likely that i will ever get an invite, no matter who is sitting in the Oval Office, the answer will be the same,"Yes sir".

Thats great...but keep in mind you fought for freedom....the right for some to say no thanks....I'm just speculating but maybe Mr. Stewart does'nt wish to be a pawn in someones reelection bid...or maybe he's considering running for office himself..Tony for pres.????

"Regardless of political views, when (president of the United States) sends an invite and wants to honor you at the White House, you accept," Johnson wrote on Twitter, accompanied by a hash tag with the word "respect." He added that some fans had complained about him accepting an invitation from Obama.

Jimmy Johnson

BTW My only invitation from the president came in 1956. My draft notice. No prior commitment excuse allowed.

Read my post again, Fox News came up with the "headline" which is really all their viewers pay any attention too. The story actually had nothing to do with anybody snubbing anyone, which is why I said Fox misleads their viewers. Pretty simple stuff really... Fox News is absolutely terrible when it comes to their distortion of the truth. I like to think for myself and come to my own conclusions not be spoon fed misleading factoids.

In fact to follow up on how ridiculous Fox News is at fact distortion, the original AP news story had a built in headline that stated correctly:

"NASCAR stars say no disrespect for Obama"

Henry,

The one "mis-leading" this nation is Obama!

8 years of a truly god awful presidency under George W Bush and thats the best you can proffer up? I actually agree to a small point that Obama has been lack luster on certain leadership related issues. I would like to see him tear the republicans a new asshole more often but to me he panders too much to the right wing pigeons trying to be too centrist. I want a real leader of conviction, screw what the corporate backed religious right wants or desires!

Cheers!

Yahoo had the same headline posted 9/2

Fox story was dated 9/3

Thousands of other news outlets using that headline

Don't waste your time on these guy's Henry, it's something in their DNA that's screwed them up, and it can't be fixed. Anyone who would cast a vote that could possibly put Palin in the oval office is broke, and broke for good..LOL
