Scary start to the main event. Jamie Passmore caught in wild melee and flipped along the front straightaway wall into turn one. He was ok, but car was very much done. Great battle for lead for much of the first 10 laps between McClelland, Stephenson, and Bolton.

McClelland would ultimately retain the point and build a big advantage in the final laps before taking Creek County reopening checks aboard Kelly Fode's 7F.

Collinsville native and mini sprint grad Layne Heimbaugh advanced to the runner up spot from his 11th starting spot. Heimbaugh also ran 3rd in the Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midget main event.

Pretty good racing throughout the night. A little dusty at the end, but not much can be done about that with a somewhat stout east wind. Track conditions were very good and racy. The heats saw what appeared to be the beginning of a couple of ruts in turn 1 and 3, but they ironed out nicely as the event progressed. Multiple grooves for the vast majority of the night.

Enjoyed it both as a fan and a writer and look forward to September 17th for more quality open wheel racing with the Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midgets, as well as the ASCS2 Outlaw, Non Wing, and Restricted divisions. The micro classes will be a non point show, just ASCS2 rules. Champ Sprints will be running that night as well. Very good racing in the champ sprints tonight.

Also, ASCS Sooner Region sprints will be back at Creek County Saturday, October 1st.
