For those of you that weren't in attendance @ Ocean Speedway tonight. Brent Kaeding had a horrific accident in turn one on his second qualifying lap. It took several minutes to get him out of the car, as the fans stood there in stone silence. He did however climb into the ambulance under his own power. He was limping noticeably we he walked to the ambulance. Hopefully we will see Brent back in a sprint car sooner rather than later. Orval Burke was also taken to the hospital with what was described as 2nd degree burns, after the cockpit of his 0B 1 sprint car became engulfed in flames. He somehow managed to pull into the infield, get out of the car and utilize the "stop, drop & roll " technique while emergency crew members doused him with water. We should all keep Orval in our prayers.

it was oval jr who was burned.

little O.B. had burns on his finger and wrists and ankles and one knee. his mom said she was taking him home when i asked what hospital he was going to. i can't confirm if he was taken to the hospital.

i too heard from a couple of different people that brent had a leg fracture and a concussion.

thankfully their injuries were not more extensive.

to indy and beyond!!

Brent`s crash was brutal. People who were there who did not see it could hear it no matter where they were at that point in time. He hit the wall in turn one at full speed sideways. My guess is that something broke in the front end. The fire that burned Burke Jr. was just as shocking. When he got out of the car and started to roll on the ground he was fully on fire. I hope that both drivers get well soon. A young kid had a nasty crash near the flagstand in a micro sprint bouncing off the wall and spraying sparks sparks as he went over. He was OK. The racing was great except for the accidents. Congrats to Ronnie Day for being in the right place at the right time and getting by Sanders. The ocean fog kept the track very hooked up. In the main event Wille Croft pulled a wheelstand for about 100 feet out of turn four.
