There were 28 cars there for the ASCS Warrior/Midwest event a couple of months ago...

I don't know about the number of cars, but went through the track here in Knoxville, IA tonigh. There were a number of extra haulers and campers behind the track. Jason Johnson's crew had the care outside the hauler working on it and looked like they were going to spend the night, so they may very well be there. I don't know about the other haulers though, might be a good show.

Is ther any way to give a few updates? I had to work tonight so I had to miss the show.

Dover looks like the car to beat. Rather disappointed in Mike Frank's high banks tonight though. 2 wrecks in hot laps and another 2 in the heats. Big dip in 1 is sending anyone running the middle to the fence. Anyone surprised though?Fix the track Franks

I'm told Dover won (from the pole) Dude 2nd. It was a late night. Several (6?) cars all wrecked in turn one.

It defintely was a late nite for a track that was only running 3 classes. For some reason, the track has a hard time keeping the A-Mods and B-mods shows moving forward. They seem to drag on forever. I think it is because the track does not race frequently enough for the scorers to get efficient. Track could deffinitely use some transponers on all of the mod cars.
There was something in turn 1 that was upsetting the cars. Some of it was driver control, but I saw even a bunch of the good guys bicycle in the turns. However, once everyone figured out that you had to change your line going into one, it made for a better race.
The biggest delay of the night was because a car got stuck in the pit fence in the B-main. 25-30 minute delay to fix the fence. The car that got into the fence was trying to pass a car as he was entering turn one, and he hit the back of the other car and did a big wheel hop that unsettled the car. Once he got the car settled, he was up in the muck up next to the fence at this point he was just a long for the ride.
I always look forward to going to US36. It is a go fast, hammer down track. However, I wish it was a little better ran. There are always line up issues in the mod class. There seems to be a lot of favortism in the mod classes. The farmed the track twice during the midget race when it only needed to be farmed once, and this weekend they didn't farm it at all when it was obvious that something needed to be done in turn number 1. Luckily the regular announcer was sick, and I only had to listen to him for half of the show.

It was a long night but the 2 girls from Knoxville that sat in front of me keep the turn 1 bleachers entertained with the imatation of the announcer.

Modifieds kill the shows at this track. Don't know why but it is always a mess.

Wished I could have heard them. The people around me always cheered when the regular announcer turned it over to the sprint car guy.
