..not a damn one about the 5W? Last time I heard his name mentioned on this board, it was to tell us he might not be fit to run with the WoO? Since then he's reeled off 7 straight top 10s, 5 of them being top 5s, and has scored more WoO points then every driver except Kinser and Meyers in the month of August. Didn't have a great Nationals, but did win a race while he was there too. Not terrible for a 24yr old driving for a two man team.

Might this be an argument for the benefits of seat time on the road? Maybe everyone shouldn't rush to conclusions about a 22 year old in his first year after missing an entire season? Traveling with the WoO is as tough as it gets, the younger guys are showing up at tracks that Kinser and Swindell have more laps on then the locals that race there do. You don't learn how to beat the veterans of the WoO in 10 hot laps...

Well said sir!! Im not a big Lucas fan, but I am becoming one if that makes sense. Hes on the verge of getting that first win. Hes been real solid like you have mentioned. Hes been fast more consistently and getting into dashes. We all know track position is huge. I wish him well..

Ive been guilty of calling for Codys head. But, then I remind myself of his success in PA. Which for his age is pretty remarkable. I also remind myself that every current stud, went thru there spell of wadding race cars up. Kinser, Swindell, Haud (he still does), Walker and whoever else u wanna mention has done the same, or worse. Now that everyone is tearing him down, I find myself rooting harder for him to succeed. He has a great opportunity. I mean really, at least were not reading threads of him abusing drugs, or other punk kid activities that other young racers have gone through.

I know that this is off topic but, since it gets brought up all the time...

What's this bullshit about Haud "wadding-up" cars all the time? I've seen it from more than one poster in this forum and I think it has more to do with his reputation as the "wild child" than reality. I was at Attica this past weekend and in the feature Haud had a left front wheel litterally break off of the car when he was underneath Dean Jacobs in turn 1-2. Both drivers kept everything upright and everybody came out of it unscathed. If that isn't an incredible display by a couple of the best in the business of car control then I don't know what is.

Sure, Haud has a tendency to go for it and make some daring moves at times but, I have to wonder if some of the people in here have been watching too many crash highlight videos on youtube? I've been watching the man race for about 30 years and I'll be damned if I can figure out where people get these silly ideas about him.

I'll end my rant here and let you guys get back to the topic at hand.

I think the difference is, Lucas isn't taking up the seat of a big time ride when far more deserving drivers could be in it (Pittman, Stewart, Kaeding to name a few).

The 2nd Kahne ride has always been a hotseat, back when Dollansky only won a few races in it, people were calling for his head. Darrah hasn't come close to winning anything in months and tears up equipment left and right. I understand people may like him personally, but he just doesn't deserve the ride.

On a side note, happy to see Lucas do well. He's had stretches of these types of runs before, hope he can put them together more consistently now.

If Kahne (and Stewart for that matter) wants to put Robert Bell in his 1st .. 2nd ....or 3rd car ....so be it.

Like others have posted ... 'it's his $$$$'

I'd rather see Milo Iowa's Daniel 'Crashshell' in his cars than Kahne putting his $$$ in a 'mortified' a LM, or what ever ... Kahne made it ...let him put any driver he wishes in any sprint car he controls or owns.

Beats the hell outta not doing anything for the sport that launched your career (like a certain driver that will be Kahne's teammate next year that shall remain anonymous.)

Lucas was well on his way to making the A at Nationals when the U Joint broke ending his night and weekend. He was flying.

Hopefully that 10G helps him stay out on the road because I know the thought of coming home is creeping into their mind.

I can only speak for Pittman in your comparison because he's the one I get to see as often in PA. Daryn has been very good in PA the last two years, but comparing the stats, he really didn't do anything more than Darrah? Obviously Darrah had regular laps here, but Pittman had been coming here for many years with top notch teams, his learning curve was a night or two as a regular. In 2009, Darrah probably outperformed Pittman head to head in Central pa. Pittman is a great driver and I feel incredibly fortunate I get to see him as often as I have, but he had 10+ years on the road vs. Darrah's 0. I'm not a Cody Darrah fan, no dislike, just like others more....but he deserves a fair shake, especially in a car that nobody has really done anything in.

...and I'd love to see Lucas in PA more often, but I hope they stay on the road, I think he's just hitting the point where they'll find out if they can truly compete at this level.

To say Darrah and Pittman were/are equal on PA turf is a stretch. Daryn, like many drivers, was ineffective when working with Matt Anderson. After Jesse went through Cannon, Daryn and struggling with Walker, he finally pulled the plug on Matt and lookie the 17 gets going.

Since moving to the 27, Daryn has been a top 2, if not the best, Posse driver.

I hope Wolfe does win one. I think him and Hafertepe are the future of the outlaws.

I think the reason there is not a thread about Wolfe is because WoO14 does not have a infatuation with him as he does for the 91.

On one subject, I saw KK race several times between 02 & 03 at Thunderbowl & Kings in either a Roth 83 or a 51?, anyways, he was upside down every time, but he was exciting to watch, not unlike Cody. He obviously understands the patience level needed. If and when Kasey releases Cody, all the haters can show up on here. Til then, let him race. On another subject, Lucas & their mom and pop operation are always fun to watch. We don't get many chances to see him out here, but I'm excited to see he's on the Trophy Cup roster in late October. Good luck 5w

yeah...and "the road to Knoxville" - if you will - is littered with many talented drivers with deep-pocketed owners who couldn't beat these guys - and still can't

If you don't have a penny in the team and kasey owns 100% of it how do come to the conclusion he just doesn't deserve the ride ,obviously the guy paying the bills decides who "deserves" it ,,kaeding was offered the 9 before Joey was and he's not in either car ,,get facts of the WHOLE picture before you decide who deserves the ride or maybe cut kasey a check bout $750,000 and you can have big time input
