Cowtown 8/26: $750/win USRA Mods, $500/win LTD Mods
Kennedale, TX (8/22/11) by DarinShort.com. Friday August 26th at Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale Texas will feature $750 to win in the USRA Modified division and $500 to win in the Limited Modified division. There is no entry fee in either class.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg:
A Bomber & Street Stock Powder Puff race will pit several wives, girlfriends, sisters, ex-girlfriends – and possibly more – against each other driving their respective driver’s car, in an all out battle to determine who is the fiercest of them all. Their ‘runway’ will be on the high banked ¼ mile oval and this race will give them the chance to strut their stuff, so you won’t want to miss the action!
To show your support of the ladies, make sure to visit Charlotte Jones in the Pavilion (to the west of the grandstand outside of corner 4) throughout the night as she will be putting feathers in the girl’s hair for a small charge. She will be providing this service until the start of the feature races.
In addition, the Bombers (reminder, IMCA legal Hobby Stocks are legal to run with the Bombers), Winged A-class 600’s (on the ¼ mile track), Non-Winged Restricted 600’s (will race on the Action Track), Street Stocks and the LSDCC.com Dwarf Cars will round out the full racing card.
“Mystery Position Cash” will be awarded to the Cowtown point’s classes. A fan will draw a number and that random finisher will receive the bonus cash! The Mystery Position Cash will be added to those winning driver’s pay envelope at the end of the night.
If that’s not enough, during intermission, some lucky fans will win get to play a new game called “Bench Racing.” There will be several envelopes that fans will open – some contain cash and some contain a ‘black flag.’ The fans will continue drawing envelopes as long as they don’t get the black flag. It will be a lot of fun and some fan will leave with some extra cash!
On the grandstand side, regular event pricing will be in effect, with adult tickets $10 for ages 12 and up, ages 6-11 will be $5; and all kids 5 and under are free!
Gates open at 6pm and racing starts at 8pm. All pit passes on August 19th are $25, and there is a $10 draw fee for each car in the regular Cowtown point’s classes.
Fans can bring in a drink cooler (size of a 6-pack) as long as they do not have glass containers. Kid’s candy call will also take place during intermission.
