The All Star race was a success in Fargo,ND. Lots of big hitters in town, Schaffer 12th to 5th, Sides 8th to 6th, Stevie Smith 10th to 7th, Blaney 6th to 13th after having to go back due to spin out, Zimken, Hafertepe,Lynton Jefferies, Shane Stewart all had trouble. An earlier announcement that Smoke was going to be there would have filled the grand stands and bleachers, but "24 hours", oh well, that's Smoke. Lots of walk-up ticket sales. Glad he made it. He had a good night, but not by his standards no doubt. Looked fast but in a very fast field and very fast track. Started 11th, was up to 6th at one point, but fell back to 9th at the end. Gravel started on the pole and early on looked the man to beat, leading about 10 laps, Sweet got around him a couple times, but was re-passed by starting line. Sweet was pushing hard to retake the lead. The youngster Gravel actually repassed Schatz for the lead once making Schatz work hard to get the lead back. Gravel finished 2nd, Sweet 3rd, Swindell 4th. Swindell was pushing hard to get back by McCarl for about 8 laps, until McCarl "touched" an inside tractor tire in turn one---night over. 4th place at the time. Schatz picked them off one at a time on a very racy surface. This new surface is really fast. Looks like the old Fargo black dirt to these old eyes.

Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

Was Schatz driving the family car with the alternative motor or was he in his standard TSR STP car?

Thanks. Nice report.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

I'll be in Grand Forks Friday night for WoO, looks like I made a huge mistake by not coming to Fargo, only another 70 miles for me. Great field of cars. Was there last year for the All Star sprint special and this year's event far surpassed last year in the quality of the field. Late models on top of that. Wo't miss it next year. I checked the All Star series website, think it was 40+ cars, 20 car B main. Here's kicking myself in the rear end. I've been told the track had more banking added to it this spring or last fall.

Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,
Seattle, LA Who the H runs those cities.

Thanks to all who came for our All Star CoC event! It was great racing and I think the fans had a good time.

Tony's car and hauler were at the Schatz shop since the Aug 3rd race. We knew he'd be here but we felt Tony had done enough for our track this year. In an effort to show our gratitude (even if it's in a very small way) we wanted to do the best we could to let Tony race just like one of the guys instead of being an attraction. Bill K did the release that Tony was coming, not RRVS. We knew ticket sales would have went through the roof if we announced Tony coming but we had a very successful show anyway and the fans that came got s special treat.

We are honored every time he races with us and hope he'll come again but we wouldn't want to risk any damage to our relationship with Tony by obligating him to come to our shows.

Our All Stars Champions Challenge was a sucess for many reason. The driver list was "All Star", pardon the pun. The weather was great, our staff did well, and the fans loved the show.

You'll be seeing a lot more news on sprints at RRVS in the near future. We feel RRVS was known as a "Sprint Car Track" and it will be again in 2012.

Cory
