From time to time I get requests to find or be on the lookout for a fairly complete supermodified that is restorable. Well, here's one on the table.

It's the ex-Bill parker super, I believe it's got some Tulsa, OkC, and Enid history to it. Price is $850, and that's a good deal for all it has. The fab work is mainly done, just really needs a cleanup, and a driveline setup to put it over the top.

Looks like it has rolled belly pan in the first pic.

Here's another angle

This car has some sweet lines with that old body style it had. I'd try to get a top just like it, made most likely.

Almost a "Prather 97" appeal to it.

There is that name Grice on the nose. He has to be a legend on somebodies list or hall of fame. Darrell's Dent Shop. Probably more famous as Darrell Beckham's Body Shop.

Excellent catch! Doc Grice of OkC.

Monte Grice (his son) is now working for Ganassi as a fab technician. He's also been involved in these lately

Larry Coleman is Forrest Coleman's son from Wichita. He was one of the nicest people that I meet while I was involved in racing. He drove Norman's 17 and was fast in it. At the last NCRA modified race at Enid in 1975 he passed mike peters like he had never was passed in 1975, and would have won the feature if the rotor not broken. While he was in Tulsa he let me drive his 1966 Corvette coupe. His wife sat next t o me and he sat behind the seats and he is a pretty good size person. He told me that the first time that he came to the new big track at Tulsa was quite an experience. I do not remember which modified he was in but it was not one of Norman's and it wa the first year that he track was open 1974. He said he got out and was going faster than he had ever gone in his life on a racetrack and was sure he was setting a track record and the next thing he knew 2 cars passed him on the oust side like he was standing still. not a lot of drivers would tell this on them-self. he was one of the last to wear an open face helmet, he had 3 or 4 pair of goggles that he would just pull down on his neck when they got dirty.

Car has sold and will be leaving the state , as of late thursday evening.

I don't know where it went to right now, but I'll bet it will stay together until it's brought back to shape.

Sure would like to have bought it. It would've been a good one to have. Just hadn't been back to work long enough to spare the money right now. I'll just work on my other car this winter and get my 35 Ford coupe on the track next season.

Brian, thanks for letting us know.
