So, has anyone confirmed any drivers already in town? On my way home tonight I passed a hauler around midnite on I-35 near Carlton... Mills or Miller Auto Parts on the trailer, looked like an old pink/purple/lavendar rig.
I so hope whatever rain moves thru early or misses the track!
I know Danny Smith and Zemken said they were on the way up as well as seeing Terry McCarl has his website updated.
I'd expect, Shaffer, Blaney, maybe Stevie Smith, Dobmeier is chasing Shaffer and Blaney in the $10,000 purse. Tatnell should be here. Unless someone heard otherwise Tim Kaeding was going to Husets Sunday, maybe Fargo, then the WOO shows - I didn't get confirmation on the race Tues. from his crew.

Per our local 20/20 racing page on August 8th. Some obvious "negatives" in this list but this is what the promoter is saying:
<>

<> >

<> > 115699.1 |
<> >
<> > |
<> >
<> > Just got off the phone with the All Start Circuit of Champions Sprint staff and also someone else that is helping us confirm drivers that will be making the trip to Superior next Tuesday 8/16 for the ALL STAR Sprint Show.
In no particular order
Tim Shaffer
Tyler Walker
Dale Blaney
Sammy Swindell
Danny Lasoski
Jac "Wild Child" Haudenschild
Brian Brown
Greg Wilson
Mak Dobmier
Cap Henry
David Gravel
Robby Wolfgang
Terry McCarl
Austin McCarl
Jessica Zemken (Tony Stewarts Girlfriend)
Stevie Smith
Brooke Tatnell
Shane Stewart
Plus we have confirmation that 2-3 current World of Outlaw drivers are coming to Superior, but because of their contracts with WOO we cant promote who they are, and also 95% sure there will be a HUGE surprise in town that night racing a sprint and possibly a late model.
Going to be a killer show!!

Man, I wish I lived about 5 hrs closer to Superior. Sounds like it should be a great show tonight. Looks like a narrow band of rain coming, but clear after that.
Huge surprise? Check racingonline's twitter for a hint...
Hope this show happens for y'all tonight!

I bet the rain wins on this one. Especially since the All Stars are renting the track.

All stars have had a twitter feed with updates at times, but not so much recently. I haven't found anything else for audio or updates for tonight.. other than its gonna rain for a while yet.

Just sent a text to one of my photographer friends. We'll see what's going on up there. Looks like they're on the north edge of the stuff that's coming through.

Saw the radar and decided to stay home. Lives down by the Twin Cities and didn't want to gamble gas money.

It's all good Stan, we all make mistakes...

Wasn't busting Stan's chops. At least I hope he doesn't think so. Just being helpful.

That's OK, I don't pay any attention to the ASCS or All Stars so I'm by no means an authority on either series or the acronyms they go by. Zero chance I'll be in Souptown on Thursday, work in downtown St. Paul and my car is out of commission. Can't get it into the shop until Thursday and walked home from the transit center in the rain tonight. As that lil' ol' band from Texas once sang, "have mercy, waitin' for the bus all day!"

We haven't seen the ASCS up here in several years and I believe this is the first ever All Star show closer than five hours from where I live. Out of sight, out of mind. I read about them sometimes but have little interest in something I'll probably never see in person.

So I guess 22 cars were there, I was in the pits until the rain started to fall @ 5:20, they called it around 6pm, I'd ran to DQ and there were still drivers heading south to the track at 5:55. I talked to some of the officials w/All-Stars, this was maybe 5:15 and they had about 5-6 cars still on the road. I-35 from Hinckley to Cloquet and even in Duluth is a MESS. But the weather was the real story as @ 3:30 it was obvious the rain was going to hit at around 6pm.
Here is a list of drivers I saw there: Davey Heskin, Justin Henderson, Shane Stewart, Stevie Smith, David Gravel, Dobmeier?-maybe was a late arrival, Dale Blaney, GregWilson, Tim Shaffer, Cap Henry, Austin Wheatly?, Pete Miller?, Terry McCarl, Danny Smith, Casey Mack ...Bill Balog? #19 was?...think the local #16 Olson car was there. Didn't see Tatnell. That's only about 16... Didn't see Zemken. Who did I miss?
I heard that Tony Stewart and Schatz were turning laps in Fargo late this afternoon.

The IRA shows at Superior were always some of my favorites so it's going to be a good race. Just wish it was scheduled for a Friday then it would have only required a couple hours of vacation to get out of the Cities. I already used up too much vacation and a moot point anyways until I get some wheels under me again. I remember ten or twelve years ago we hardly had any Sprint Car racing and three days of vacation pretty much covered every special worth seeing. Now a person would have to be retired to go to them all. A nice problem to have but a problem nonetheless.
