the driver that overachieved and the driver that underachieved during the Nationals. The circumstances really don't matter...just askin?

Brady Bacon would have easily been in the feature if he wouldn't have been taken out on Wednesday and he would have made it again if he didn't have a flat tire on Saturday. He gets my vote.

Dusty Zomer and Danny Lasoski both drew good pills and couldn't do anything with them. They equally tie with their D Main performances...

Don Droud Jr over (local team has not made Nationals in 10 to 15 years)........ NorCal drivers under (my favorites mind you) .. J. Allard, TK, B. Kaeding and T. Walker struggled all week.

Austin McCarl making the A in his 2nd career Nationals was pretty damn impressive.

Underachiever I'd probably say Lasoski as well.

Over: Tie Austin McCarl and Don Droud Jr (1st time since Randy Anderson in 2001 that Gil Sonner had a car in the A-Main)

Under: Lasoski

Heartbreak: (if I may) Rager Phillips...the kid has endured enouph crap from fans and media this season to fill 2 years of racing and his car quits on him a 1/2 lap away from the A. His wife and entire crew were near tears after the B-Main.

Keeping it local...... Dobmier, heskin, droud, Amac all huge over achievers!! Most of them have struggled on regular nights but they must have been saving it for nationals. Very impressed by them! Lasoski, zomer under. I don't even know where to begin it still shocks me. First and second in points but they both struggled. For as fast as zomer had been leading up to it I was predicting top 10 in the A. Heart breaker goes to Phillips. I know he had the cracked header but did the motor quit or did he run out of gas??? Best show goes to Shane Stewart. I only wish he was a local but still he was bad fast all week!

Over- Both McCarls. Austin is young but gets better every week. Very fast and is turning into a smart racer with great car control. We all know that Terry can drive but that 55 car is a shadow of it's former self, just hasn't been that fast for a long time.

Under- Zomer. I really had him picked to get on the front row. By far the fastest car at Knoxville this year weekly.

Best moment of the Nationals-Dobmier driving back around Meyers on Thursday and running away like he had 100 more horse. Meyers had to be a little suprised.

Hard Charger- Shane Stewart. No explanation needed.
