i am sure i am going to get bashed for asking this, but...

i've been going to the races now for about 20 years... in the first 18 or so, i think i saw maybe 1-2 left rear tires blow-up... in the last 12-15 months i have seen like 30. the last 4-5 races i've seen 2-3 left rear blow-outs a night.

other than all the negative stuff about hoosier vs goodyear, are ppl setting up cars different to get more drive off both rear tires, or jacking the weight over more on the left side, or?

I wish Earl still did Eldora's track prep.

I drove a 410 and 360 sprint car for 14 years and never had a tire blow. My last race behind the wheel was in 2008 and I will agree, it just wasn't a common thing unless a track was taking rubber early. Now, we see sometimes as many as 3-4 tires per night let loose on tracks that don't seem to be abrasive. Tony said it best after the King's Royal when talking about Sammy being the unluckiest guy in racing right now.

Two things the wing change, more on the left rear and goodyear make a faster softer more grippy tire with soft side walls. Works ok on 4/10 to 1/4 mile tracks blow on 1/2 and bigger tracks.
